Guesthouse Kusunoki was wonderful. The guesthouse was quaint, artistic, and impeccably clean. The owner, Katsumori san, is kind and very detail-oriented, and you can tell that he puts his heart and soul into running this guesthouse. I loved my stay here, it was the highlight of my trip.

Roku Hostel Hiroshima situa-se em Hiroshima e tem um jardim, terraço, bar e acesso Wi-Fi gratuito em toda a propriedade. Everything was perfect, my room had only 3 beds, and it had enough space for suitcases. The location was great because Hiroshima station was super accessible (one stop away with a local train). It also provided us with everything we needed. Finally, as this is a small hostel, it was very easy to socialise.

A babbling stream flowing past I'm a rural area. The owners were kind and friendly. There were lots of Japanese artifacts and traditional Japanese games to play on a table with a heated rug underneath. Sadly we only stayed one night and wish we could have stayed longer. There was a shared kitchen and bathroom facilities.

You will live a little outside the city, but very easy to get to center with only needing to go 1 stop on the train leaving quite often. About 40 min with train + tram to Museum and park. Very sweet lady running the place, and the hostel is absolutly stunning and incredibly clean. Free washer and dryer + good kitchen. Also great restaurant attached that opens about 17.

しまの宿 Island Country Inn localiza-se em Onomichi, a 5 km de Saikon-ji Temple e 18 km de Shinsho-ji Temple. We chose to stay here in advance of doing the Shimanami Kaido cycle from Onomichi, in order to get to Mukaishima, you will need to exit Onomichi station, cross over the footbridge and go onto the ferry which costs 100 yen per person. I would recommend calling ahead while you are waiting for the ferry to allow time for pickup. Yuji, Junko and Akana were extremely welcoming hosts providing door to door service and a lovely home cooked breakfast with actual proper bread!! for only 500 yen per person. For 2 people you have your own bedroom and living room. Well worth staying here especially if you want a more personal experience.

I highly recommend it to anyone who wants a real home cooked meal and a rest stop during the shimanami kaido.
