Located on Miyajima (Itsukushima), Miyajima Guest House Mikuniya offers a Japanese-style accommodation and a small garden. Free Wi-Fi is available. Miyajima Ferry Terminal is a 20-minute walk away. Everything was perfect. We had a great stay there. Nice, peaceful place, traditional. I really recommend it.

This was a pleasant surprise of a stay. So charming and private. Loved our host Kousuke and his attention to detail. Felt very well taken care of and appreciated the curated feel of the stay. The lovely breakfast was a bonus. Conveniently located to sites of interest on Miyajima. Would love to come again.

Guesthouse Kusunoki was wonderful. The guesthouse was quaint, artistic, and impeccably clean. The owner, Katsumori san, is kind and very detail-oriented, and you can tell that he puts his heart and soul into running this guesthouse. I loved my stay here, it was the highlight of my trip.

The guesthouse is right on the beach and a perfect stop while doing the Shimanamikaido bike trail The owner is very friendly and welcoming The tatami room with futons was very comfortable for our family of 4.

One of the best hostels where I have stayed so far and surely the best in Japan. The vibe there is so chill and friendly and you get to know locals when they come over for drinks. Amazing! Situated next to a rice field, 88 House Hiroshima is a non-smoking accommodation with free WiFi throughout the property. From JR Hiroshima Station, the property is a 25-minute bus ride away. Our host was amazing and wonderful! The location was close enough to town but far enough away to feel quiet!

4.1 km from Atomic Bomb Dome, Guest house Mitaki is a recently renovated property situated in Hiroshima and features air-conditioned rooms with free WiFi and private parking. Seldom leave reviews. But this is one of the prettiest and cleansest hostels i’ve ever stayed at. You will live a little outside the city, but very easy to get to center with only needing to go 1 stop on the train leaving quite often. About 40 min with train + tram to Museum and park. Very sweet lady running the place, and the hostel is absolutly stunning and incredibly clean. Free washer and dryer + good kitchen. Also great restaurant attached that opens about 17.

Set in Onomichi, 2.6 km from Oogamiyama Omoto Shrine and 5 km from Saikon-ji Temple, しまの宿 Island Country Inn offers spacious air-conditioned accommodation with a balcony and free WiFi. We chose to stay here in advance of doing the Shimanami Kaido cycle from Onomichi, in order to get to Mukaishima, you will need to exit Onomichi station, cross over the footbridge and go onto the ferry which costs 100 yen per person. I would recommend calling ahead while you are waiting for the ferry to allow time for pickup. Yuji, Junko and Akana were extremely welcoming hosts providing door to door service and a lovely home cooked breakfast with actual proper bread!! for only 500 yen per person. For 2 people you have your own bedroom and living room. Well worth staying here especially if you want a more personal experience.

Shimanami Osayo no Yado - Vacation STAY 16166 is set in the Ikuchi Island district of Onomichi, 25 km from Oogamiyama Omoto Shrine, 28 km from Saikon-ji Temple and 31 km from Saikokuji Temple. Authentic vacation stay, amazing food, and extremely nice host. Everything was amazing she was nice and was very accommodating. I highly recommend it to anyone who wants a real home cooked meal and a rest stop during the shimanami kaido.
