Excellent staff on the trip to the jungle incl. information about the nature, animals and fauna… and they served very good food on the trip 👍🏻😃

Sumatra Thomas Leaf Monkey Guesthouse & Jungle Trek is set in Bukit Lawang. This homestay offers free private parking, a 24-hour front desk and free WiFi. Words could not describe how amazing was our experience. Since we arrived, Bryan welcomed us with a very big smile and kindness. The food, the location, the room, everything was perfect and way beyond our expectations. The jungle trekking with the staff of Sumatra Thomas Leaf Monkey was anonther level of perfection. Rachid and Gunawan were more than professional and helpful during the whole trip, big thanks to them. The trek was wonderful, the food also was so delicious , the lunch and the dinner in the camp where we had a special member of the team who cooked for us traditional dishes. We highly recommend both the guesthouse and the trip in the jungle with this super team. Thank you a lot for this lifetime memorable experience.

Rob was a great host making sure that I had everything I needed for my very short stay in Padang. The guest house is clean and spacious and the view is amazing.

With mountain views, Sumatra Orangutan Discovery Villa is situated in Bukit Lawang and has a restaurant, full-day security, bar, garden, sun terrace and picnic area. Gotong Rotong bus station and convenience store are located about 10 to 15 mins away by foot. The quiet villa with nice ambience is tucked away from town. Padi fields just a few minutes walk from the villa. Tyson, Dedek and team are super friendly. Their dog Balu is a charm. They are able to organize trips to the jungle, Tangkahan, transport and etc. It's like a one-stop villa for everything. The room is of good size and bed is very comfortable. Restaurant in the villa serves good food. (One can always replenish drinking water in the restaurant.) There is no need to walk out for meals. In any case, not much choices available near the villa unless one goes to Bukit Lawang. Bukit Lawang town is 20 minutes walk from the villa walking pass local residences. If not, one can take a motorbike to the town. The jungle trek organized by Tyson comes with a friendly and knowledagble guide and assistant. Saw 2 orangutans during the trek and also a few monkeys. Trek is tough and it's goes uphill and downhill. One ought to be fairly fit. Highly recommend Sumatra Orangutan Discovery Villa.

Providing garden views, SeaGate Bungalows in Sabang provides accommodation, a private beach area, an open-air bath and a garden. Seagate Bungalows are very new, located right by the water with beautiful views. Exceptional bathrooms and room facilities. The hosts (Borja and Yuyun) with their staff are very hands-on with any requests and queries, etc. They even arranged for snorkelling, dolphin watching trip and transport etc. The on-site restaurant serves good food and good service. Would definitely come and stay again, and recommend to friends and family.

Set in Tuk Tuk in the Sumatra region, Juma cottages features a garden. There is an on-site restaurant and free private parking. The units in the guest house are equipped with a kettle. Scene is very beautiful.quite place.staff is good

Located 9.3 km from Medan Grand Mosque, Bua Guest House offers air-conditioned accommodation with a terrace. The owners are super nice and welcoming. Also very accommodating, I arrived very late at night from the airport and they came to pick me up from my taxi. Rooms are clean and comfortable with AC and private bathrooms. Breakfast was also very yummy! The location is quite far from central Medan but nice because it is quiet and works perfectly for a one- night stop in Medan before moving to other places.

Situated in Berastagi, 25 km from Mount Sinabung, Kaesa Homestay features accommodation with a garden, free private parking and a terrace. Super friendly family running the homestay. The owner advised the best way to get from Medan to Berastagi when asked and even provided Google map and exact name of bus terminal to catch bus to Berastagi. Upon checking in, son Ipul will give information on what, how and where to eat/do. He will also try to group his guests together for activities and transport whenever possible. Staff are friendly and efficient. Room is big. Bed is comfortable and hot shower is great. Cable TV has a number of English programs. Wifi connection is good. Simple breakfast provided is sufficient for one to start the day. Homestay is located on a hill some 5 minutes walk from the only main road. Many eateries along the main road. Similarly for mini-marts and ATMs. The night food stalls along the main road are nice experiences.

Situated in Bukit Lawang, Sumatra Cheeky Monkeys features accommodation with seating area. This property offers access to a terrace, free private parking and free WiFi. The owner was so kind. Let me stay in a slightly more expensive room inside without paying the difference and got a ride back to the guesthouse from the city center at night. I wasn’t there for long but definitely felt it was a good deal for the price. It is pretty far from the center of butik lawang. You can walk it in 20min or get a tuktuk for 30rp. The walk is nice. You get to see another side to the area.
