Situated in Berastagi, 25 km from Mount Sinabung, Kaesa Homestay features accommodation with a garden, free private parking and a terrace. I had a great time at Kaesa Homestay. The owner and his family were very helpful, with a map of the town and detailed instructions on the trek and sights. The room was also spacious and comfortable, with a common balcony area that has views of the town.

Sumatra Expedition Lodge is a recently renovated guest house in Bukit Lawang, where guests can make the most of its garden and bar. We spent Christmas here and we couldn't have picked a better place. Even before we arrived Lily and the gang made it easy by picking us up in Parapet. The lodge is new and comfortable with big rooms, fan and a wunderful view over the rice fields. All food was very good. Lily and Ishako arranged all our hikings as to our request and we loved it. And they were all so very welcoming and invited us to join with their friends Christmas party. This was one of our best stays in Indonesia. We can highly recommend everybody to stay here. We loved it, thank you, Lily & Ishako & Osaka!

The hospitality is great! Easy communication with the host. Robert was great at getting back to me with questions I had. The place is very clean, comfortable bed. I had an excellent meal there. Hot shower. The view is beautiful. The place is located in a more secluded area, not near the city but very close to the ferry.

And of course his staff is the best! Mr Arif does his best, he is involved in his job, does everything possible to his guests, thanks him a lot! Moreover i had beautiful one-day trekking with him and we were so lucky! We saw 7-9 orangutans, one gibbon, monkeys tomas, kyffia (snake).
