My partner and I stayed 1 week at the Sumatra Thomas Leaf monkey guesthouse and it is by far the highlight from all of our travels. All of the staff are so friendly and inviting and make you feel like family. They all go above and beyond to make your stay unforgettable. The accomodation is located just a short walk from town making everything easily accessible. We booked our trek with them also. We did the 2 nights and 3 day trek and were led by knowledgeable guides who customised the trek to our needs. We seen many orangutans, various monkeys, hornbills and other stunning wildlife. We are vegetarian and all the meals were delicious. Best of all the guides are passionate about the health and protection of the jungle and take all ethical measures seriously. We also booked a day trip through them to see the one of the largest flowers in the world. It was an experience that we will not forgot. It was an incredible experience!!! Highly recommend to anyone looking to visit Bukit Lawang.

Offrant une vue sur la montagne, le Sumatra Orangutan Discovery Villa est situé à Bukit Lawang. Gotong Rotong bus station and convenience store are located about 10 to 15 mins away by foot. The quiet villa with nice ambience is tucked away from town. Padi fields just a few minutes walk from the villa. Tyson, Dedek and team are super friendly. Their dog Balu is a charm. They are able to organize trips to the jungle, Tangkahan, transport and etc. It's like a one-stop villa for everything. The room is of good size and bed is very comfortable. Restaurant in the villa serves good food. (One can always replenish drinking water in the restaurant.) There is no need to walk out for meals. In any case, not much choices available near the villa unless one goes to Bukit Lawang. Bukit Lawang town is 20 minutes walk from the villa walking pass local residences. If not, one can take a motorbike to the town. The jungle trek organized by Tyson comes with a friendly and knowledagble guide and assistant. Saw 2 orangutans during the trek and also a few monkeys. Trek is tough and it's goes uphill and downhill. One ought to be fairly fit. Highly recommend Sumatra Orangutan Discovery Villa.

The hosts, Jujun and Borja are very kind and helpful persons. At the end, it was a bit sad to say goodbye to them. The room was very comfortable, we had everything what we needed. It has a big terrace, big enogh to do yoga or just relax comfortably. Their kitchen is very good, breakfast and dinner are available, but they also made lunch for us the day when we arrived and was very hungry. There are just a few bungalows, it's really cosy and private.

Située à Bukit Lawang, la maison d'hôtes récemment rénovée Kupu Garden Guest House & Cafe dispose d'un jardin. Cet hébergement en bord de mer dispose d'un balcon. Pas compliqué, j’ai adoré mon séjour de 10 jours à Kupu Kupu. C’est le genre de lieu coup de foudre dont on voudrait ne jamais repartir. Au calme mais accessible, deco soignee, staff adorable et pro qui se mettra en 4 pour que vous réalisiez tous vos rêves. Mes 2 jours dans la jungle ont été exceptionnels grâce à eux. La cuisine de Ricky est so yummy … tout quoi !
