An extremely pleasant company, the silent partner of the team! The soul and heart of this place is Moana=Vayana, as I called it the first moment I saw it! She is Miss Esny, as I call her or Mantaray;s Queen (no one feels them and finds how she does it). Thanks to Aron, the host, it was an exceptional experience during our stay. We've visited almost every location for snorkeling and diving on Raja Ampat (you should pay for the boat). We'd a very diverse menu and a true natural Papua environment.

The food (vegetarian for me) was amongst the best that i was served in indonesia, fair pricing and certainly cooked with love. I extended my short visit to manokwari and stayed allmost two weeks in the end. If you are interested in traveling papua, the two hosts Mar and Theo are very experienced in all kind of adventures and are happy to help you out with their travel agency. This is a homestay, basic room but extremely clean, Husna is an absolutely amazing person! Safe area, she gave us foot directions to a great dinner place. Husna has a wonderful place and is a great host. Great breakfast, refreshments throughout the day, a wealth of information about the area, flora and customs 😊.

The dining area can get very warm but we took our meals out to the end of the jetty where there’s a picnic table and hammock and enjoyed watching the sunsets. Location is spectacular, as is everywhere in Raja Amput, but I loved the changing faces of the big rock in front of our rooms and watching the fish life off our balcony - which was great for diving straight in when the tide was up. You can hire the kayaks and go out around the many little islands and bays or just go in around the mangroves. They offer really good excursions tailored to your needs. Citrus reef is a must!!!

Above all, Nick and his family are very nice people and try to fulfill every wish you have. At night, for example, they did not hesitate to bring us a chilled beer from the village on the next island, they stocked up on Fanta and Coca Cola, when they found out that we loved them, they took our son to fish with a harpoon on the open sea, they prepared the fish that our children caught from the moles/decks and etc. And this is what makes this accommodation special. Of course, the houses are above the water on a beautiful small island, they are all clean, with a mattress or a bed and a mosquito net. The toilet and the possibility of rinsing with water is basic, as in other homestays in this location, but everything is clean and constantly cleaned. There is plenty of food and it is very good, especially fish and homemade cakes. Fruit is served for lunch and dinner, coconut is available whenever you say you want one. In addition, we were lucky to have wonderful guests in other houses and together we enjoyed a wonderful time on the island and on some trips that we decided to go on together with them. Prices for shipping to Waisai and on trips are not exorbitant because they are really long distances. We definitely recommend a trip to the opposite island, where there are large beaches with very fine sand, gradual access to the sea, in which there are beautiful corals and is full of blue starfish right from the start.

Just 2 wonderful and huge huts in great design, right on top of the reef and in the middle of wonderful original Kurkapa Village. Very friendly staff, excellent food (delivered by the kids of the family right to our huge terrace). What more can you ask for - an island paradise, with a wonderful house reef right in front of the hut. Lots of fishes and sharks living there. Hopefully we´ll be back soon! Katrin & Markus
