Rumah Marianne is situated in Sorong and offers a terrace. This guest house features free private parking, a shared kitchen and free WiFi. The welcome from Adel was exceptional. We were given plenty of extremely useful information, including where to go for dinner. She arranged a taxi for an early morning pickup for the airport. The room was clean, the AC very welcome after 2 weeks of homestays in Raja Ampat. The facilities were simple but more than adequate and excellent value for the price.

Located in Besir in the West Papua region, Avinsea Homestay features a terrace and sea views. Guests staying at this homestay have access to a balcony. The best homestay and location we’ve seen and lived in during our multiple trips in Raja Ampat. The homestay has a fabulous house reef and is in front of the Citrus Ridge. What makes Avinsea special is the owner’s family and people who help them in the homestay and with trips. We felt welcomed and taken care of like their friends, enjoyed every minute of our stay. Food was generous and most delicious, plenty of fresh fruit and snacks. All trips to snorkelling spots were well organised (we were most impressed by Yeben island), we even did night snorkelling with them we will never forget. There was always somebody from Avinsea snorkelling together with us – we felt safe and able to see the sea life we would have never spotted on our own (crocodile fish, for example). They collect plastic garbage from the Citrus Ridge, take care of the reef. Stay as long there as you can. We are in another homestay now and missing the vibe of Avinsea. We will revisit this homestay during our next trips to Raja Ampat for sure.

Facing the seafront in Fam, Or Mandira Guest House features a private beach area and barbecue facilities. Featuring a 24-hour front desk, this property also provides guests with an outdoor fireplace. The best homestay we’ve ever stayed at! We were absolutely delighted with this homestay. Everything is done with so much care and attention—the space is incredibly clean, well-maintained, and welcoming. The food is simply amazing, prepared with dedication and full of flavor. The family running the homestay is incredibly friendly. Although they don’t speak English, they use translation apps to communicate, and if their nephew is on vacation, it’s very easy to communicate in English. Tomás, who manages the homestay, is fantastic! He made sure to take us to all the places we wanted to visit and even offered us a boat tour around the area on our last day—a wonderful gesture! The bungalow is simple but cozy, equipped with a large fan and a mosquito net, ensuring a comfortable and restful stay. The location couldn’t be better, with sea views on both sides of the island and breathtaking sunsets that are truly magical. The homestay is completely isolated, offering the perfect environment for tranquility and relaxation, despite being very well located close to key spots. Speaking of location, must-visit spots like Pyanemo, Tugas Island, and Melissa Garden are just 5-10 minutes away by boat. The only downside is the lack of network coverage at the homestay, so it’s important to plan all your activities and dives in advance if they’re not directly arranged with the homestay. The bathroom is simple but super clean. The shower is traditional, using a bucket, but it’s surprisingly pleasant. If you’re looking for diving experiences, we highly recommend Pam’s Divers. They are slightly farther away, but they are extremely professional and friendly, making the experience even better. An unforgettable experience—we highly recommend it!

Comfy bed, very clean shower and toilet, delicious food and lots of it. The family was very welcoming. Excursions fairly priced. We’d definitely come back.

Situated on the beachfront in Waisai, Coco Huts Guest House has a private beach area. The property features sea and mountain views. We had a really special time at the Coco Huts homestay. The family put a lot of heart and effort into making our stay a great experience. Everyone was very kind and welcoming. Delicious and varied food, clean bathroom facilities (water containers were constantly replenished), great ocean view from the bungalow. The host took us on a number of trips, including a trip to Wayag, which were really well-organized, and we felt super safe on the boat as well as snorkeling with a local guide (the reefs in the area are amazing). The transfer back to Waisai was well-organized as well. If you’re looking for a quiet get-away from the more crowded areas like Piaynemo, this is definitely a good choice.

Situated in Saonek, within 1.3 km of Waisai Torang Cinta Beach, Raja Ampat Sandy Guesthouse offers accommodation with air conditioning. The homestay owner contactes us prior to our arrival to check if we were finding our way (they also offered a taxi pick-up at the harbour) and welcomed us with open arms. The homestay has a nice small garden where we had breakfast. The owners also helped us to arrange our taxi next morning
