Casa Esperanza ligger 5 minuters spårvagnsresa från centrala Basel och erbjuder gratis WiFi och en gemensam terrass med sittmöbler. Alla rum har en platt-TV. Overall, a great experience. I was met by Kai, who took me to my room, and explained everything, including with a lever-arch file of notes. He checked that I had everything I needed, and then left. I didn't need to contact him, but I had all his contact details in case I did. It's a large enough room with beds, a table and a well-enough equipped kitchen, and a fan in case it gets a bit hot. There is enough hanging space in the cupboard. The bathroom is shared with another room (I knew that at the time of booking), and that might not suit everybody, but it was perfectly fine with me. The location is great: about 2-3 blocks from a tram intersection for the Number 1 tram that goes to the main station and to the Messe Convention centre. Other trams are also there, but I did not use them. There are also two largish grocery stores in the vicinity of the tram station.

This place is big and comfy. Amita is a kind host, with a very polite and lovely decorated house. You really feel comfortable here. The neighbourhood is quiet and it is reasonable near Basel SBB which has train connections to other cities in Switzerland. A very nice experience!
