There are many activities to do in the area, and I booked the horse riding tour with Funky Adventures. It was an amazing experience, and Avenir made sure everyone was having a great time. I highly recommend staying here if you have booked a tour or joining a tour if you are staying.

A great location to town and access to the town Rock. The rooms are new and modern at a great price point. Owner speaks English and was really helpful with recommendations.

Boasting a garden and views of city, Doda Guest House is a recently renovated guest house situated in Gjirokastër, 45 km from Zaravina lake. My family and I loved staying here. We had the family room and there was plenty of space for us (4 adults). The room was clean, authentic and beautifully decorated. The family owning the guest house was so welcoming and the hospitality was the best we’ve ever experienced. It truly felt like we were visiting family. We booked our stay without breakfast included, but it was no issue adding the breakfast when we were there. The location was perfect as well. The castle and the town was just a short walk away. We stayed in 12 different hotels over the summer in Italy, Albania, Sweden and Slovenia, and this was by far the best stay of the summer and of my life. I wanna go back to Gjirokastër and I’ll definitely book a stay at this guest house again.

This feels like a retreat and home stay all in one. The hosts are warm beyond words and cook up a fantastic Albanian dinner made up from veggies and fruit directly from their garden. The rooms were clean and cute.
