The brothers running the place we're very kind and accommodating. They also facilitated lantern experience for us at the resort.
The location is within walking distance to the Shifen waterfalls and to the old street, very convenient home base if you want to explore the Pingxi district.
The place is clean and comfortable to stay at and they even have us a ride to the train station after we checked out.

Once the fog cleared up, the view was beautiful! Staff were nice and helpful. Lots of free snacks and the location was perfect as the front door opens up right to Jiufen old street and just a short walk from the tea houses. The bathroom was nice and modern with all amenities, including a bidet with heated seat, face wash and even a face mask, which was thoughtful. The hotel even put a heat pad in our room.

This property is a member of Taiwan host which is a big thumbs up. They spoke great English, there are 4 rooms at this property and a parking spot. Two rooms have a view of the beach, the other two have no view. Netflix is provided in the room which was clean and comfortable. There is a restaurant on site but dinner finishes early and closes at 745pm. Breakfast was provided on a set menu.
Travelers on a budget looking to experience a place like a local will enjoy homestays. These simple accommodations are in a private home, where the host also lives. All facilities are shared and in most cases breakfast is included.
The staff at this homestay were wonderful! They picked us up from the train station which while close was an excellent bonus as it was pouring rain. The breakfast was good and we were sent home with mini lanterns as a souvenir. The room (family room) was extremely spacious and while the beds were a bit hard it was perfect for what we needed!
