This is a cozy and quiet place. I regret that we spent so little time here, but we will definitely come back! The atmosphere is warm and homely, with friendly hosts, clean rooms, a beautiful view from the window, delicious wine, and great breakfasts. There are local restaurants nearby serving homemade Portuguese cuisine, which is incredibly tasty and charming. We followed Filipe’s recommendations and had dinner there. The surrounding nature is stunning, with breathtaking views, especially if you have a car. There’s also an opportunity to visit wineries and taste the local wine—it’s amazing!

Travellers on a budget looking to experience a place like a local will enjoy homestays. This simple accommodation is in a private home, where the host also lives. All facilities are shared and in most cases breakfast is included.
Host family very friendly and very helpful with knowledge of the area and advice on visiting the local sites, and also places further afield. Bedroom was big. Lots of room and very clean. I was able to park my motorcycle directly in front of the house, and under a tree for shelter. Great view from the 2 terrace levels.

It is a nice house in a spectacular location, which functions more like a home stay, by providing many things found in a holiday home. It has all the trappings of a home, but if you want a modern fresh, well-appointed apartment this it is not. As mentioned by others there are personal items around that make it homely but also cluttered. Heating system works well for cooler nights, but no aircon for the mid-summer heat.
