Our room was very comfortable and had everything we needed. Room, bathroom and common area was clean and staff was very friendly and helpful. You can rent snorkel gear and other beach gear for the duration of your stay for a fee. Plenty of space to hang up your swim clothes. They also rent electric scooters. I would definitely recommend staying at the Iyonchi House.

The hostel owner was incredibly friendly. He offers pick-ups from the ferry port and drives you to the beach in the morning and can recommend places to eat etc.
There is a communal kitchen you can use. The athmosphere in the hostel is very familiar and cozy!

Staying with Takako-san at the Kucha homestay was a highlight of my trip to Okinawa. Takako-san is a lovely lady, always smiling and doing her best to accommodate her guests. Very positive atmosphere is this homestay and friendly guests willing to engage in interesting conversations over dinner and breakfast! The owner prepares tasty, diverse and filling meals if you request her (dinner at 7 pm and breakfast between 8 am and 11 am). She even prepared a take-away breakfast fro me on the last day. The rooms are spacious, traditional Japanese style rooms with tatami mats and wall decorations. The property is very clean, including the shared toilets and showers. There are only three rooms, so you will always find a free shower or toilet. Wifi works very well and you can easily have video calls. The location is about a twenty minute walk from the Zamami port, you can either walk or take a 5-minute bus ride. It is walking distance to Furuzamami beach (2 km) and several observation decks.

The owner is really kind and helpful. She is doing a great job to keep everything cleaned up and perfectly tidy.
Travelers on a budget looking to experience a place like a local will enjoy homestays. These simple accommodations are in a private home, where the host also lives. All facilities are shared and in most cases breakfast is included.
Fantastic place, hosts are so wonderful, we got caught by massive storm while being at Furuzamami and had to leave bikes from Yenn's Marina there due to heavy conditions, as were offered a ride by car by some locals, hosts pick the bikes later by themselves. Tastefull breakfast and just two houses away from very good restaurant, rooms are very clean and spacious.
Thank you for your hospitality.
Great location. Lovely host who provided lots of information about the island and what to do. The property offered snorkels and bikes for a great price. Very clean.
Really nice place, 50m away from Ama Beach. The owner used to be a chef in Tokyo and the food he serves in the restaurant is amazing - same goes for the included breakfast! The rooms are clean, spacious and well equipped and you can rent snorkeling gear for 1000 Yen/day. Also, the transport to/from the ferry was very smooth thanks to the two lovely hosts who picked us up and brought us back by car.
