We had a wonderful stay at the Shironoshita guesthouse. Tomo-san is a great host, and everything is perfectly organized and clean. The location of the guesthouse is also perfect, within walking distance to the Himeji castle, restaurants, a convenience store as well as a local train station very close. Also the breakfast was very delicious. We can definitely recommend it.

The place is on the way of the Castle when you arrive from the Train station. So it's really easy to find. The people were really nice, and we had no problems with our luggages.

Super kind and friendly staff - many, many thanks for letting me check-in in the morning already 🫶🏽 Location is amazing, on one of the covered shopping streets with plenty of places to eat and shop, as well as a 10 min walk to Himeji station, or 5 mins to Himeji castle. The bed was comfy and offered privacy thanks to the curtain. Showers were great, good water pressure. WiFi reliable.

Travellers on a budget looking to experience a place like a local will enjoy homestays. This simple accommodation is in a private home, where the host also lives. All facilities are shared and in most cases breakfast is included.
The onsen experience was really good. It was a little daunting as the boys and my daughter hadn't been before, but it wasn't hard to work things out. It is however, primarily for and used by locals.
The twin share room was a good size, although priced to match.
Travelling through Japan for 3 weeks we will definitely always remember our stay at Shironoshita Guesthouse. Unfortunately we were only staying in Himeji for one night. Tomo-san is a great host, and made sure that we felt at home. If you have questions don't hesitate to ask him. Everything in the guesthouse is very well thought through. This was a unique little slice of Japanese culture with a very good location within easy walking distance of the train station and castle as right within town centre. Lovely host who was helpful and friendly.
