The owner, Oswaldo, was wonderfully courteous and helped me with so many little things during my trip. He is a considerate, knowledgeable man and was willing to ask any questions I had and even drove me once to see some birds at a local spot when he had some free time. Part of his property in development with multiple stories next to the rooms offers the highest vantage point in Mindo for great views of the city. The rooms were very clean, and the hostal is perfectly located close to the city center and within walking distance of pretty much everything you would want to access in Mindo. The hostal has a nice central area with a garden and attached cafe where Oswaldo made breakfast each day.

We prolonged our stay for 2 nights as we really loved the place. It is an amazing place for relaxing! Cool outdoor kitchen, few hammocks and little birds coming to say hi.
It is a 40min walk to the city, or a 7 min taxi ride. Since we love walking, especially in the nature, this was plus for us.

Matteo was a great host, super knowledgable about the area - he’s studying anthropology and even lived for a while with one of the local tribes, which you can do a day trip to learn about! I really learned a lot chatting with him and I recommend you do the same. The location was also great - it’s a little bit outside of the town (8 minute walk) which means the bird life is much better. Sitting out on the terrace we saw so many hummingbirds and even a few tucans!
Good hostel! The family is really nice and the rooms are good. A couple of hammocks and a kitchen with filtered water and a fridge. Few minutes away from the centre but Mindo is small anyway :)
This is a lovely hostel, a little off the main road which had me worried walking there at night alone, but actually mindo is a very safe place and it wasn't very far. Hummingbirds everywhere, beautiful house and a friendly atmosphere.
Eduardo was such a great host, he did everything he could to made us feel welcome and also helped us to get around Mindo and find some fun activities to do while we were there. Breakfast was delicious and provide us with enough energy to do some hiking during the morning.
Great location within 10 Minutes walking distance to the village. The room was very big and the beds super comfy. Paola is a great host and knows a lot what to do in Mindo. You can see a lot of colibris around the house and if you are lucky can spot the Tucans. :-) We would definitly come again.
Great place in the middle of nature but still not too far from the town. Pao and Martin are lovely hosts, very welcoming and helpful with everything we needed.
Spacious room, well equipped kitchen, nice outside areas with hammocks (and colibris!), good breakfast - all in all a great place to stay in Mindo!
