Great location, wonderful nature ambiance, there's even a nice waterfall hike and glowworms at the property. It's very calm, the Kiwi room was very comfy (and near the bathrooms so no long walks in the cold to the shower 😉). The amenities were nearby and offered everything we needed, and there is even a small shop at the reception for your basic needs. Our only regret is that we didn't book another night here as well.

Sue and Andy were such gracious enthusiastic and helpful hosts. They were spot on with insisting we stay 1/2 hour longer on the beach to see the sunset and then the star display. The facilities catered to all of us who love the beach experience - bonfires, pizzas, lounging!

Haast River Motels & Holiday Park offers a guest lounge, a shared kitchen and BBQ facilities. All accommodation features a refrigerator and tea/coffee making facilities. Friendly and accommodating staff, especially nice to us as we were on motorcycles. Views of snow capped mountains. Close to the restaurant. Great value.

Nestled in a garden landscape, Shining Star offers self-contained beachfront chalets with free WiFi and a private balcony just steps from clear blue waters. Wonderful, as always. It's a perfect place to stay for a weekend away. It's peaceful and quiet, and the beach is nearby for a long walk or to watch the sunset. I always stay here when visiting Hokitika.

Kids LOVED this location. loved the playground and zipline. It was quiet and comfortable. Each unit had it's own little outdoor space. We had our own picnic table outside our small cabin. It was perfect. The kitchen was clean and had adequate supplies. Bathrooms and showers were also clean. It's a relatively small place so bathrooms and kitchen were close by. Overall, it was just really easy to stay there because everything was easy to use and access and kids were happy.
