Stóra-Sandfell
This family-owned, eastern Iceland property is located on Route 95, about 17 km from the town of Egilsstadir. It offers cottage and guest room accommodation with views of Sandfell Mountain.
Stora Sandfell's rooms have tea/coffee facilities, a private bathroom and access to a shared kitchen. The cottages have a kitchenette and BBQ, while the bathroom facilities are either private or shared.
Kind friendly host, wonderful and quaint space, privacy from other cottages with trees that have grown since the photos on bookings.com were taken. Private bathroom, shower, kitchenette, BBQ outside, a little porch and chairs for you, a table inside to eat around. Fantastic, would recommend.
Free use of nearby swimming pool and sauna! New room with good water pressure and hot water.
The most beautiful view, super friendly and welcoming receptionist. Apartment had all that's needed. There was also public swimming pool included in the price which was a nice finish to the day.
This is one of the best top tier stays from our Iceland trip. We enjoyed every minute here. Tiny houses are perfect and we had everything we needed inside the house. They have a setup of bbq for each houses and we used it for our evening meal. Host is so welcoming and amazing. Dog at this property is cutest and will spend time with you if you are having the bbq plans :p Me and my husband still about this place how amazing and dreamy it was to stay here. Host has taken care of everything that you could possibly need. :)
Isabelle has been very welcoming, waiting for our arrival to show us the tiny house and giving us the keys. You'll get promo codes for the Vök baths and whale watching in Akureyri, and some nice welcome gifts. The tiny house is wonderful, the photos are not lying. We would have loved to stay a whole week there!
The perfect tiny house near Eglisstadir- we loved it! Beautiful location, cosy house with a wood fireplace and comfortable couch. The hosts were lovely and left us treats for Christmas Eve. We also enjoyed the discount for Vok baths. Although we didn't get to see the Northern Lights due to snow/clouds- it was still a lovely stay. We woke up to a winter wonderland on Christmas day.
Very spacious and clean apartment, beautiful view over fjord and the best was the swimming pool nearby ( for free for hotel’s guests). We extremely enjoyed staying there. Thank you again!
The decor in the Tiny house was suberb. Remote location with lovely view over the lake.
All staff was extremly friendly and helpfull. The breakfast was not too rich in choice but the quality of every single piece was outstanding. The hotel is situated in the middle of a wood and the rooms have a bit of bungalow style. The view on the lake is very charming. We were not rushed for breakfast end or to check out. Maybe the stay we enjoyed the most during our trip.
A nice little town. The location of the hotel with the view to the fjord is absolutely wonderful. Restaurants, bakery/cafe´ and a grocery store is just a couple to 100m away. You can use the swimming pool nearby free of cost. Pretty quite eventhough located on the main road.
