I was a little bit sceptical about the included half board option but it turned out to be the best decision. There were quite a lot of options to choose from and it was delicious. Also I usually do not book tours from hotels due to overpricing but it seemed they have regullar price + it was a nice lift forward and backward in a Hilux trunk seats. My family also liked a very nice and maintained tropical garden.

Luka is a super sympathetic, friendly but above all a very helpful host. He is happy to help you with all kinds of information and responds quickly to messages. The homestay is just like in the photos. It is neat and everything is there, including a small refrigerator in the room. Air conditioning works fine but is a little bit noisy so we used the fan instead at night. More than enough delicious breakfast! A quiet location and a good base to discover Taman N. I liked everything. Jason is a great host. Hostel is clean, with nice view, AC in each room, nice terrace. Jason helps organizing trips around the jungle and also can explain how to move around on your own. There is great atmosphere!

The host Ann is amazing, always available to ask any questions about your hikes/tours. The beds are really comfortable and the hostel is in a great location.
The room was a good size, clean, breakfast was homely, staff went above and beyond and dropped me to the bus station a few times. Short walk to the boat. It was lovely and I'd definitely book again! It also seemed like one of the nicer options in the area after walking around and seeing other guest houses/hostels.
We enjoyed a 4 night stay at Balai Serama and loved every minute! The two hosts couldn’t do more for you and were very friendly and helpful! They appreciate that their place is not within walking distance to the town and so offer lifts to and from whenever is convenient for you. The 1 day trip to Kuala Sat is exclusive with this guesthouse and was our personal highlight of our stay in Taman Negara! Beautiful gardens and very nice rooms topped off this incredible stay. Highly recommended!
Jason was a great host, he was always around to answer questions and helped to arrange tours of the national park and onward travel. The hostel is in a great location, with amazing views of the river and the national park. The dorm was spacious, the showers were clean with hot water and there was a really nice outdoor area for socialising.
Very nice and helpful staff. Great location and perfect for exploring the jungle. some restaurants in walking distance. quiet at nights. you can book tours directly from the guest house.
