My wife and I spent 7 days at Mailagama Cinnamon Residence. The hotel is located in a very beautiful and quiet place in the middle of green rice fields. We loved to walk and there were many routes around - there were large lakes nearby. You meet very few people, just many-many peacocks or a lonely lizard. The hotel is nice looking and comfortable. Our room was clean and large. There was very good hot water pressure, probably the best of the 9 hotels in Sri Lanka where we stayed. Terrace with beautiful views of the surrounding area. There was a large space for working on a laptop, doing yoga and meditation, with fans running. As we are freelancers it was essential for us. We were delighted with the food cooked by two very kind ladies. The hotel manager was incredibly attentive to all our needs, very punctual and obliging. We were also glad to meet the hotel owners. Indira and her husband showed us their cinnamon plantations. It is not like in numerous “Spice gardens”, where they try to sell tourists cinnamon at an increased price. There was a small family production here, which was specially shown to us. You can buy cinnamon, but no one imposes it. We bought some as gifts for our friends. And we were also very grateful to our hosts for driving us along the highway. Within half an hour we met 3 elephants, a herd of buffalo and deer. And this was not a nature reserve, but an ordinary road. On another day we went on a safari to Yala Park. We saw 3 leopards, wild pigs and many other animals. The safari was booked through the hotel, the price was quite normal. Overall, this is one of the best hotels in terms of price-quality. Many people only stay for a day to go on safari, but this place deserves more. We are going to return here next year and recommend this hotel to everyone who likes nature

El Lake Front Yala Safari está en Kataragama, a 2,6 km del templo de Kataragama y a 35 km del parque nacional de Lunugamvehera, y ofrece alojamiento con jardín, conexión wifi gratis en todas las... Habitación amplia y limpia. A 5 minutos en coche del templo de Kataragama, curioso de visitar. Enfrente hay una laguna para ver atardecer y cerca de los parques naturales aunque de camino se ven animales por la carretera. El personal que lo regentaba es muy amable.

El Hotel Serugahawatta se encuentra en Wellawaya, a 28 km del puente de los Nueve Arcos de Demodara, y ofrece alojamiento con jardín, estacionamiento privado gratuito, salón compartido y restaurante. Even though hotel is located by the Ella-Wellawaya road, the location is very calm. Construction wasn't done in some parts of the facility. But the available rooms were at good standard. Good value to your money.

El Safari Lodge Yala, situado en Kataragama, ofrece restaurante y vistas al jardín, a 2,3 km del templo de Kataragama y a 16 km del parque nacional de Lunugamvehera. Hay wifi gratis. Great place to stay before/after doing a Yala safari. They were very helpful in organising a safari for us and breakfast to take with us on the safari. The room was clean and comfortable. Surrounded by nature. Less than 10 minute drive to town centre.

El Rathna Holiday Resort ofrece habitaciones con aire acondicionado en Kataragama, a 17 km de Tissa Wewa. We went to this place on 2024.08.03. It's a family trip. Superb place. Friendly Staff. Awesome weather condition. Not too far from Katharagama Dewalaya. We also enjoy my trip.

We booked at the late night since our schedule changed suddenly. They were still welcoming us and offering us the cozy room. They cooked delicious food for us! The best food that I ever ate so far in Sri Lanka!!😚 They even brought us to Ella city to walk around together and treated us the meal! Feel so lucky and grateful to stay in this fantastic place! Highly recommend!!!👍👍👍

El Saranga Holiday Inn se encuentra en Wellawaya y cuenta con restaurante, bar, salón compartido y jardín. El alojamiento ofrece recepción 24 horas y room service. I loved it. It actually costs more to use the Aircon but I didn't need it, even though it was the hottest time of year and I nap at noon. The hotel is surrounded by a Garden, which keeps it cool. I loved this town, surrounded by lots of pretty rural roads to wander. The staff were really kind and the location was perfect, a short walk from the bus station.
