A small hostel run by a wonderful, helpful host who is happy to chat and give recommendations and sightseeing information. The location is fantastic, just a few minutes' walk from train station and very close to some famous gyoza, too. Great WI-FI. I would definitely recommend it to anyone going to Utsunomiya.

The property was in a great location for accessing the sights of Nikko.The owners were warm and welcoming.The food was great (especially the mashed potatoes!) and we made use of the outdoor onsen bath on the night of our stay and the following morning.

The view from my room is overlooking Lake Chuzenji. It was very beautiful when I went in autumn. Also, the staff were great! They were very helpful and very easy to communicate with. Highly recommended!

Yoshi the host was very helpful and friendly. He went out and bought some medicine for my nephew who was sick from the pharmacy. All he asked was we write him a good review, which I would have done anyways regardless. We were the only people there our first night. It was close to the supermarket and fairly close to the train station. I have no regrets about choosing this place. Yoshi runs an excellent guest house. This is only place I've been to where the owner also runs a photography studio, I wasn't interested but it looked like he did good work. (We were there in December so I don't know what it is like at other times of year.)

Offering a garden and river view, Midorian is located in Nikko, 2.7 km from Nikko Toshogu Shrine and 4 km from Tobu Nikko Station. The owner was supper friendly and helpful. Very peaceful Japanese style inn with a nice little river behind the property. Highly recommend!

Located in Nikko and only 1.1 km from Nikko Toshogu Shrine, Guest House Koundo provides accommodation with mountain views, free WiFi and free private parking. Koundo Guest House is a beautiful 2-store traditional style japanese house located in a lovely neighborhood nearby many touristic spots in Nikko. The manager - a kind and discrete old japanese man who sleeps in a room downstairs - receptioned us with soft drinks and showed us the house facilities and a map of the neighborhood. We loved the whole experience and we certainly want to come back one day.
