Mariko is so generous and friendly - the rooms are comfy and clean and close walk to the supermarket and trains. She even made us breakfast that we turned into out own EkiBen; I'd been missing fresh fruit on our trip and we had a piece of everything. Thank you Mariko san!

The host was very welcoming and accommodating. Traditional provided breakfasts were wonderful. She even drove us to a shrine on the first day to make sure we could get to it before it closed. This was a perfect stay house for a couple looking to get away from the bustle of a hotel.

We had the best breakfast there The coffee and latte were just awesome 👍 beds comfortable Our room had two big windows so we got to enjoy birds singing. The decoration of the place is so beautiful Every time I came out of my room I spent a few minutes looking at the Japanese decorations and paintings.

The location is good close to the lake and between the waterfall and the temple at the lake. The buses can bring you in 30 minutes to yumoto onsen where Mt. Shirane is. Also Mt. Nantai is very close. The guesthouse was very clean. No towels were available but this was not a problem for us. You can rent some if you need. In the common area is a piano and we were allowed to play, it was wonderful. The staff even showed us how he played shamisen! It was one of the nicest guesthouses I ever been to!

Futarasan Shrine is 2.2 km from the property, while Chuzenji Lake is 12 km away. The gentleman managing this facility is truly the ideal host. He was extremely helpful from the very beginning, providing us with suggestions on what to do. He had ready-printed instructions for each activity, which were extremely handy. Complimentary coffee, tea, and bananas are offered every morning. He even bought us sweets! Lastly, he has a small professional studio, and if you are interested, he will take and print out a picture for you for free. The location is very close to Tobu Station, where the bus hub and many rental car agencies are present. We went by bus for hiking but chose to rent a car on a rainy day. I can't recommend this place enough. One of the best experiences in Japan.

The owner lives downstairs but he keeps away unless you’re checking in or out. Upon arrival he greeted us with orange juice, a map of the area and recommendations. Daily amenity refills provided, rooms cleaned. Rooms comprised of a twin and tatami/futon room (all upstairs). A wonderful, quiet area very close to all of the action in the World Heritage Area. By booking this property your money goes directly to locals instead of corporations. Experience the real Japan.
