Guest House Umebachi offers dormitory-style accommodations with free Wi-Fi. Guests can rent bicycles to tour the area and relax at the outdoor terrace. Relatively close to the station and the facilities were nice. My favorite part, however, was talking with the staff. Everyone, staff and other guests, was super nice and understanding making it my favorite part of my Japan trip so far. Especially how it was a great chance to meet lots of new people from all over Japan and the world and practice my Japanese with everyone working there. I would highly recommend!

We booked to stay one night while visiting friends in Miyagi and it was a lovely home-from-home. The common area was a nice cosy place to relax in and the room was warm and comfortable. We didn't have time during this trip for any of the other activities on offer (paddle boarding looks fun!) so hopefully we'll be back soon!

Uchi is situated in Matsushima, 200 metres from Zuigan-ji Temple. Guests can enjoy listening to music or watching TV in the common area. You will find a shared lounge at the property. The staff there was really welcoming and they could speak perfect English, which isn't a given factor when travelling in Japan. The facilities were pretty good as well, all very clean and modern. I would like to come back here one day.
