The owner speaks excellent English and was very helpful throughout our stay. We had a room next to the bathroom which made using the shared facilities easier (but being Japan these are very clean). The owner offered us some plum wine as a welcome. Parking is in a line outside the house so you need to juggle cars a bit but it wasn't a problem as the owner was always on hand. Excellent air con which is essential in the summer hear. The property was excellent value and perfectly located for the centre of Matsushima. The property could probably benefit from a common area with coffee / tea making so there is somewhere to sit aside from the rooms. There is such a room but I think it is still being developed.

The localisation is perfect, really closed to the train station. You will need around 35/40min to join Ishinomaki, and around 40min more to join Matsushima, a really famous place all over Japan. You have a supermarket at 6 minutes by foot, and even a Pokemon manhole closed by ! Finally, the owner was really kind. He even help me to design my itinerary when a typhon was approaching, checking by himself the trains still in circulation, etc. I really help me to leave the place with my mind in peace ! Our room was spacious and the beds were comfortable. The guesthouse was about a four minute walk from the train station, and an eleven minute walk to the supermarket. Hiro, the owner, was super nice and friendly ^^
