Guesthouse Kusunoki was wonderful. The guesthouse was quaint, artistic, and impeccably clean. The owner, Katsumori san, is kind and very detail-oriented, and you can tell that he puts his heart and soul into running this guesthouse. I loved my stay here, it was the highlight of my trip.

Situated next to a rice field, 88 House Hiroshima is a non-smoking accommodation with free WiFi throughout the property. From JR Hiroshima Station, the property is a 25-minute bus ride away. I spent two nights here and everything was excellent. The owner was very kind and helpful. Also the traditional Japanese house was fantastic and shared spaces like the kitchen, shower room and toilet were very clean. This place surrounded by the small river, the garden and cute neighbor house. Check-in time also flexible if your room is ready. Even it's a bit far from the city but not complicate to go, just take the bus no.29. Before your arrival date, the owner will send you the message to guide you about the bus stop location to get on/off and it's very easy just follow his suggestion. This place is worth to come!!

But this is one of the prettiest and cleansest hostels i’ve ever stayed at. You will live a little outside the city, but very easy to get to center with only needing to go 1 stop on the train leaving quite often. About 40 min with train + tram to Museum and park. Very sweet lady running the place, and the hostel is absolutly stunning and incredibly clean. Free washer and dryer + good kitchen. Also great restaurant attached that opens about 17.

We chose to stay here in advance of doing the Shimanami Kaido cycle from Onomichi, in order to get to Mukaishima, you will need to exit Onomichi station, cross over the footbridge and go onto the ferry which costs 100 yen per person. I would recommend calling ahead while you are waiting for the ferry to allow time for pickup. Yuji, Junko and Akana were extremely welcoming hosts providing door to door service and a lovely home cooked breakfast with actual proper bread!! for only 500 yen per person. For 2 people you have your own bedroom and living room. Well worth staying here especially if you want a more personal experience.
