Royal Oak Guesthouse, a property with a shared lounge, is situated in Orkney, 2.2 km from Scapa Beach, 17 km from Maeshowe, as well as 19 km from Standing Stones of Stenness. The location was good. The food was excellent. The rooms were comfortable. There was a lounge with games, sofas, and a large TV, but we were too busy to take advantage of it. Eric, the host, was very friendly and accommodating. He got us everything we asked for. The water was very soft, so only a small amount of soap or shampoo was needed. It didn't feel like we were intruding in someone's home. It felt more like a mini hotel with a fair amount of privacy for coming and going. Also, we had a ground floor room where we didn't have to drag suitcases up, which is hard being older adults. The stay was very enjoyable.

Boasting a private beach area and views of sea, Waterfront House is a guest house set in a historic building in Finstown, 5.7 km from Maeshowe. exquisite, what a beautifully decorated guest house , Kim and Amar have thought of everything, the attention to detail was evident in every way from the tv over the spar to the lighting in all the rooms , the views were beautiful and mesmerising, Kim greeted us and explained breakfast was not included however they had provided cereal , fruit , bread and accompaniments along with a fridge full of complimentary drinks and snacks , the bed was comfortable and the shower amazing , this property deserves much more than a ten out of ten. Location is central, we were literally 10-20 minutes from all major sites.

Situated in Twatt and only 13 km from Ring of Brogdar, Runa Guest House features accommodation with garden views, free WiFi and free private parking. I enjoyed my stay at the Runa Guest house very much. The owner is a knowledgeable tour guide on the Island, so he could answer any questions and had lots of excellent suggestions that enhanced my visit. The suite was clean and comfortable. The little kitchen was stocked with breakfast items. There is even a washing machine and dryer available for use. I highly recommend.

Karrawa Guest House is set in the town of Kirkwall, less than 1 mile from the town centre and within 2.5 miles of the airport and ferry terminal. Super clean and spacious. Owners were extremely friendly and considerate Very quiet neighborhood and very close to the center of town Breakfast outstanding with a very large selection of hot and cold items

Grainbank Mews, a property with a garden, is set in Kirkwall, 16 km from Standing Stones of Stenness, 18 km from Ring of Brogdar, as well as 17 km from Ness of Brogdar. The comfort of the room and the quiet.

Set in Kirkwall and only 17 km from Maeshowe, Bellavista Guest House offers accommodation with garden views, free WiFi and free private parking. Excellent Host, the room was spacious, spotlessly clean, warm and very comfortable. Wifi was good and fast, there was plenty of space to park my car nearby. The Bellavista Guest House was sign posted nearby at the last 2 junctions, so you can't really miss it. It was so quiet here, very little road traffic, just the sound of the sea. At night very dark outside, next to nothing for light pollution. Outside my mobile phone and internet reception was excellent. I stayed 5 nights and paid for breakfast. There was a wide variety to choose from on the breakfast menu and I thought it was great value.

A fantastic guest house with comfortable and clean rooms. Sian is a wonderful host and her Scottish cooked breakfasts are delicious! Sanderlay Guest House is a great base to explore Orkney, I highly recommend it.

The Ferry Inn offers 30 rooms spread across four buildings in Stromness, and is located 6 miles from the UNESCO Neolithic Heart of Orkney. Perfectly situated to both explore mainland Orkney and catch the ferry, this room was extremely quiet and comfortable and the breakfast was absolutely superb.
