Facing the beachfront in Puumala, Villa Saimaan Sydän features a shared lounge and a garden. From the lovely garden you can find a barbecue/fire place to enjoy. Private parking is for free. Very friendly and welcoming hosts who were keen to make our stay as comfortable as possible which it was. The place was environmentally friendly and provided a self-service breakfast which was well laid out and and plentiful without creating unnecessary food waste. We stayed in the "Glamping" tent which had spare blankets and umbrellas available if needed. A clean outdoor bio toilet was available nearby as well as full use of the indoor toilets, showers, sauna, TV room which was just a little further distance away.

Wanha Neuvola Questhouse was originally built in 1948, and freshly renovated in 2014. This guest house is located in the Pieksämäki town centre and offers free WiFi and parking to guests. Very friendly communication about check in procedures. Very thoughtful and practical organizing and facilities. Loved the sauna, breakfast room and back garden. Short walk to station, restaurants, Poleeni culture building and to lakeside walk

Idyllic upstairs apartment with two bedrooms is set in Joensuu and offers free bikes and a garden. This property offers access to a patio, free private parking and free WiFi. Everything was absolutely spectacular. It was one of the cosiest places we've ever stayed in, and it truly felt like home for the three nights that we spent there. There were so many things that were free to use whilst we were there too, which was very rare! Coco, the dog, was there to greet us too. Very cute! It was especially convenient that we had access to bicycles too, and everything in Joensuu was within a good distance to the apartment. If you like pizza, I ate the best pizza I've ever eaten in Finland at Pauliina Pizzeria, just a few minutes away. Hope to come back again! Kiitos hyvin paljon.

Set in Paltamo, Kotolinna, Kotomo Oy features a garden, shared lounge, terrace, and free WiFi throughout the property. Featuring family rooms, this property also provides guests with a barbecue. The whole town is in the middle of nowhere, even by Finnish standards. But then again, this is probably the appeal :) There is a train stop though on the Helsinki-Kuopio-Oulu line for Paltamo, which is about a 10 minute walk prom the property. There are big stores and a petrol station too nearby, and of course the river and the lake, which are beautiful. You can swim too, if you want. The property is a large and fairly luxurious private home by appearance, divided into some private bedrooms and generously large common areas, like kitchen and bathroom. All very clean at the time of my visit.

Located by Lake Onkivesi, 12 km from Alapitkä, is the Jokiniemen Matkailu guesthouse. We loved that our room in this cosy B&B had a stunning lake view, a patio to enjoy it from and a very nice and modern bathroom. No noise and a lot of nature. Friendly owners. We hope to come back some time.

Located by the Kuopio Train Station, this bed and breakfast offers free WiFi, cafeteria and in-site small shop. TVs are featured in all rooms at Veturi B&B. A private bathroom is also included. this was like a time warp from the 1950s in every way - music played, friendliness and approachability of staff, service, everything. Even the fact that they were essentially "closed" on sunday. if you want to travel back in time but not compromise on comfort go to cafe asema.

Offering a garden and lake view, Landhaus Kekkola is located in Mikkeli, 13 km from Golf-Porrassalmi and 14 km from Visulahti Travel Centre. Really nice area, wonderful house, garden, lake. Manuela explained us everything perfectly. She is the perfect host.

Raate Guest House is situated in Suomussalmi. There is an in-house restaurant, plus free private parking and free WiFi are available. The staff were really friendly and ready to help with anything. We got straight to the sauna in the evening. They were also ready to make lunch if needed.
