Nestled away from the hustle and bustle of the lakes, Jamoo is comfortably tucked away in the adjacent countryside. Food, although extra, was delicious. The owners prepared a special New Years meal with soba for Dec 31st dinner, and osechi and ozoni for Jan 1st breakfast.

First, this is an incredibly impressive location. A beautiful home with an incredible view of Mt Fuji. We booked only one night, with the Fuji room, but wish we had stayed longer and will come back next time we are in Japan. What a special place - we loved the tatami mats, the green tea served, the cleanliness of the inn and of course the senso/onsen. The host was genuine, helpful, kind and so, so sweet. This seemed like such an authentic experience for two people who had never been to Japan before, and I can’t recommend it highly enough. Truly a highlight for our trip.

Perfect. Perfect. Perfect.
Spent our last night in Japan after a week of travelling.
Had no issues finding the place, just use Google Maps.
The mountains views from the property were amazing. We were lucky enough to have snow set in after we had checked in. The space was cozy and warm, the bedding so clean and comfortable.
We took our own food from 7/11 because we wanted simple meal but could easily have cooked a full meal as they have microwave, oven and BBQ ect.
The owner was so kind and gave us a warm welcome and explained how to use the heating. Everything was labeled in English which made things super easy.
We really hope we can come back and visit again soon.

Hosts were very nice and accomodating for my motorcycle, allowing me to park in the garage. Was nice to be able to reserve the bath at a specific time (there were two private baths). Enjoyed the host's cats roaming around the house. Paid for the breakfast and it was freshly prepared and delicious! Liked the traditional tatami room and futon bed.

The owner is very friendly and helpful. He speaks english well.
The hotel is way better than I expected. Located near the lake, near the wharf where most of the swans gathering, and there is a Familymart just a stone’s throw away
Cozy and well organised, except for share bathroom and restroom, which are supposed to be overload in high season methinks, there would be no complaint at all.

Warm and welcoming guest houses are ideal for travelers who prefer laid-back accommodations with a personal touch. Usually family run, these hosts will provide local recommendations and even optional meals. Guest houses sometimes feature a cozy living room or a garden – and are still cheaper than most regular hotels.
The host was incredibly friendly and welcoming. The warmth and hospitality provided a wonderful start to our stay.
The facilities, although a bit old, were maintained and clean. It was nice, that we could use bikes any time and for free. Overall, I highly recommend pension for anyone seeking budget-friendly lodging with a personal touch.
It was absolutely beautiful. Very cozy, spacious and we were fortunate to be able to see Mt Fuji right from our window. Our host was super friendly and the guesthouse was very clean.
A cosy place to stay. Felt like home to me. I travelled from Yokohama and the highway bus stopped right next to this guesthouse. Highway bus to Tokyo also stops at the same bus stop and that is very convenient. Their bike rental rate is one of the cheapest too! Thank you so much Marino and Kei for the hospitality💕 I would definitely be back in the future to hike up the trails around Yamanakako 🗻
we like that it is off the road location and therefore it was quiet. the futon were very comfortable and there were clear instructions to lay it on. host was very nice and it was a pleasant stay.
Everything! The hotel is in such serene setting that all your troubles simply go away. The host was super caring and welcoming.
It is on Yamanako sightseeing bus route which departs from platform 6 at Kawaguchiko station. You get off either one stop before Yamanakako Asahigaoka or at Yamanakako Asahigaoka as it is likely you’ll find a taxi there. It is a bit far from Kawaguchiko station, however, it is worth a visit for the peace and quiet you get.
The property was clean & well maintained and the hosts Marino and Kensuki were truly helpful, friendly, informative and informed. The guesthouse was a great value, located just steps from lake Yamanakaka, the bus stop, near an onsen and several good restaurants. There was also a common area where there was free fresh coffee available in the morning, places to store food if you wished to cook for yourself, and a dining area where we met several travellers from many countries. They also rent bicycles for a reasonable 1,000 Yen/day.
A great guesthouse in the lakes area! We're so glad we didn't stay in the much busier Kawaguchi lake area and stayed here, where it was far quieter and laid-back.
The owners are a lovely couple who are well travelled and clearly know how to run the perfect guesthouse with a chilled hostel-like atmosphere.
Our room was lovely, our first traditional Japanese style room. The whole place is spotlessly clean, warm, and cosy. We also loved the common area with kotatsu (like a Spanish brasero), books, and large, well-equipped kitchen.
lovely property, great location. very quiet and calm space. the host was very helpful! loved using the bikes.
unfortunately didn’t get to see mt Fuji due to cloud cover.
