We had a great stay at toranjyo lit, a traditional ryokan house. It is simple but has everything you need and it’s very charming. The staff was also very friendly and helpful, giving us tips how to structure our nioshima/teshima trip and picking us up from the bus stop.

Staff were wonderful, very friendly and helpful at check in. We picked out our breakfast and bagels for the morning. Location was perfect for catching the ferry the next day to Naoshima art island. Room was on the small side, but we put our luggages under the bed. The design was quirky and matched the art sensibilities of our fellow travelers. Breakfast bagel was made fresh for us in the morning. Great restaurant suggestions for Uno town within walking distance.
Just a 3-minute walk from Ando Museum and 300 yards from Gokuraku-ji Temple, One Rest Private House features accommodations in Naoshima with a garden.

Centrally located in the art-house area. Comfortable and spacious for a solo traveller or couple.
Last time I was in Naoshima I stayed at a guest house, sharing common areas with other travellers. I much preferred this option of having a whole property to myself.
There is a small take-out cafe in front of the property but it operates only for a few hours in the middle of the day, so it wasn't a noise problem. You do occasionally hear the commerical fridge.
It is close to a road intersection, so when the buses start moving it gets reasonably noisy (after 8am & finishing around 5-6pm). Not a big problem - but just advising.
If you want to buy groceries - the local co-op closes around 4pm, and the 7-eleven, which is not far from the main ferry terminal, (& has longer hours) is a 30 minute walk away. So buy your supplies when you arrive from the ferry.
Providing quiet street views, Sparky’s House in Naoshima offers accommodations, a garden, a terrace, and a shared lounge.

The location is great! Walking distance to restaurants and very close to the ferry which is handy if you have luggage. The bike rentals at the hotel were very convenient. Hotel staff were very nice and helped us make a dinner reservation.
Just a 9-minute walk from Hachiman Shrine and 0.7 miles from Ando Museum, Episode1 features accommodations in Naoshima, with free bikes, a garden, and a shared lounge.

The bed was very soft and comfy. It had everything we needed and was well located on the bus line and with a good restaurant, Regalo, a block away.
La Curación offers accommodations in Naoshima. Takamatsu is 8.1 mi away. The property is approximately a 10-minute walk from Gotanji Beach. Free WiFi is provided in all guest rooms.

Very nice proprietor, well located for buses and restaurant.
Warm and welcoming guest houses are ideal for travelers who prefer laid-back accommodations with a personal touch. Usually family run, these hosts will provide local recommendations and even optional meals. Guest houses sometimes feature a cozy living room or a garden – and are still cheaper than most regular hotels.
Very convenient if you are traveling from/to Naoshima. Cheaper than the options in the island and the 20-minute ferry to get there is only 300 yen. The port is walking distance from the hostel. Very clean, towel provided, comfortable, excellent staff.
3 min walk from train station. Close to ferry and a great onsen. Hostel is beautiful japanese style. It feels like home straight away. Large kitchen and beds are good size. Nice quiet and chill hostel. If you're tall watch out for the lower doors
Very charming and beautiful guest house, but we were especially very happy with our host Yuki. She picked up our HEAVY luggage from the station so we could go to the art islands immediately after arriving in Tamano and she gave some really helpful advice for our itenary. Some earplugs (provided in the room) are helpful as there are paper walls seperating the rooms, but for us that was part of the charm. Breakfast was also nice. Would definately recommend this place!
Great location to visit the islands or connecting to Okayama. Fantastic breakfast. Max has great recommendations for food in Uno. Very friendly and helpful host. Very clean private bathroom/shower.
Very charming traditional house! I stayed 2 nights in the female dorm which was so cozy, quiet and confortable. The corridors reminded me of the ones in Spirited Away film! The staff was so friendly! Lot of space, very clean, this is a peaceful place where I could have stayed longer ! I warmly recommend this place !
Nice warm sitting room to use. Yuki was a great host and made a very good breakfast. Brisk 15 minute walk to the station in the morning. Yuki also made a restaurant reservation for us and drove us to it. Downstairs rooms are divided by traditional Japanese paper walls.
