Koke Musu inn, hotel in Sakamoto

A recently renovated guest house in Otsu, Koke Musu inn offers outdoor fireplace, private parking and sports facilities. It is situated 12 km from Daigo-ji Temple and provides a shared kitchen.

We had never been to Otsu before, and we were so happy to have booked this place. It's steps from the lake, and there's a lovely little cafe just about immediately beside the place. They also serve food in the downstairs portion of the inn. We stayed in the One Piece room, which is a marvel of nerdery and engineering. These people love their fandom, food, woodworking, and moss gardening, which is all the better for their guests. Our room was designed to house one or two people comfortably, and though small, it is delightful and very comfortable. The room even has a (very) small kitchen! Amazing. We passed a lovely night in this place, and we will definitely be back when we're in Japan again. It was a break we needed after several days of wandering around mountains and doing research. Loved it! Hosts were flexible and personable.

Yadoya Lodge, hotel in Sakamoto

Set in Kyoto, 1.2 km from Shugakuin Imperial Villa, Yadoya Lodge offers air-conditioned rooms with free WiFi and express check-in and check-out.

Fantastic studio, really spatious, with great large hard bed and western furniture. It feels a bit like staying at a fancy bar with a bathtub :D. The decor is really unique. Everything works. Location was perfect for what we needed - the conference centre. Lots of shops nearby, good transport links by bus or a metro some distance away. The owner went out of his way to help us and be nice - thank you so much!

The place has a lot of charm. It was clean and lovely to stay in this hotel. The room was beautiful and the bed was very comfortable. In the kitchen there was kotatsu so I had a chance to experience it. Nice to experience but I would rather not stay for longer.

Guest House Aoi Nakamoto, hotel in Sakamoto

Guest House Aoi Nakamoto is situated in the Sakyo Ward district of Kyoto, 1.8 km from Heian Shrine, 2.4 km from Shoren-in Temple and 2.9 km from Samurai Kembu Kyoto.

Very convenient location close to public transportation (busline one block away), yet the inside of the building is quiet, especially the guest rooms. Also, a 24 hour market is very close by...a good source for snacks and take out meals. This guesthouse is walking distance to Ginkakuji and close to the Philosopher's Walk. If you want to experience the quieter side of Kyoto...this is the right neighborhood for that.

Easy access without human interaction😁the property was small but clean and had all the essentials for a traveller including fridge, kitchen, microwave, shower and toilet. Curtains kept the room dark and each bed had their own bedside light so as to not disturb other guests.
