Our stay at Katsuemon Gosho was an absolute highlight of our trip to Japan. Everything about it was wonderful - the hosts and their gracious hospitality, the 200 year old traditional farmhouse, the stunning courtyard garden and the general rural neighbourhood. The hosts are proud of their home and we felt privileged to stay there. They only accept one lot of guests at a time which made our stay even more special. Translate apps allowed us to communicate very effectively.
We ordered a traditional Japanese dinner and breakfast the next morning and highly recommend that if you are staying that you do too. The home cooked food was outstanding and more like a feast than a dinner.
We would give this property more stars if we could.

The owners are so lovely, it was a really nice experience. I had just finished a 3 day hike and was exhausted so the mum made me a delicious Bento box for dinner.
The living space is very spacious and light, it felt very relaxing in there. The communal kitchen and bathroom area is also very spacious and has everything you would need.

Beautiful property and the host was amazing. He was so nice and gave amazing recommendations. He called a restaurant to make a reservation for which he recommended and it was one of the best yakiniku places we’ve been to. We also went out to a karaoke bar with him and we had a great time! It was a nice property but the host made the experience even better!

The host (Yuya) was the nicest and most welcoming host I've ever had. The location is hard to find at first, so he picked me up from the station and we walked together. He responded very quickly whenever I messaged him.
The location is very close to the train station, less than 5 minutes walk. and there's a lot of izakaya / restaurants nearby.
The place is small and traditional but well kept and very clean. I was so impressed by the cleanliness of this share house.
堺のお宿 旧星賀亭 in Kita-noda provides accommodations with a garden and a shared lounge. This guest house provides free private parking, a shared kitchen, and free Wifi.
Warm and welcoming guest houses are ideal for travelers who prefer laid-back accommodations with a personal touch. Usually family run, these hosts will provide local recommendations and even optional meals. Guest houses sometimes feature a cozy living room or a garden – and are still cheaper than most regular hotels.
Very beautiful japanese house in the countryside. Delicious dinners and friendly owners. We spent 2 nice and quiet days at Katsuemon. Would recommend it to anyone who wants to experience japanese countryside
The hosts we’re very friendly, helpful and show us how to eat Japanese traditional foot.
