Eric the Red Guesthouse, hotel in Reykjavík

Eric the Red is a perfectly located Guest House in Reykjavik just 60m/200ft from Hallgrímskirkja Church which is the biggest church and single most central point in Reykjavik, we are in short walking...

Loved staying in Eric the Red guest house. It's right in the town centre. Self check in process was very well arranged, nice comfy warm rooms. For those who want to prepare their own food, kitchen is well equipped. The dining hall is long and has great character to it. The bathrooms and toilets are shared and was always clean. Out of the 6 places i stayed in Iceland, this guest house was the best value for money. Highly recommend :)

Guesthouse Galtafell, hotel in Reykjavík

Set in a building dating back to 1916, this Reykjavík guest house is within 5 minutes’ walk of the popular Laugavegur shopping street. Both WiFi and private, on-site parking are free.

Guesthouse Galtafell was handy to amenities in town and also to the BSI bus terminal. Theory and her husband were very kind and helpful, and let me leave luggage whilst I explored. They also have a beautiful dog!

Very friendly host, who gave us a few tips about the city and detailed tour of the flat. You've got everything you need there. It is so nice furnished you even got a massage sofa and big screen tv with a mirroring option and HDMI cable. Fully equipped kitchen and bath with window. Free parking outside the premise and just few tens of meters away from paid parking zone, so the city center is very near (10min walk). We were 2 couples staying there for 4 nights, I could imagine us staying longer. Nice quiet neighborhood. Def value the money.

Lovely new, clean hostel, the staff were really great and helpful and it is a short (easy, 5-10 minute) walk from the Central bus station and a short, nice walk (10 minutes) to the city centre. It is cheaper than the hostels right in the city centre and excellent value for money. Plus the WiFi was brilliant. Definitely recommend👍

The guesthouse is very strategically close both to the city centre and the bus terminal (from which the buses to the airport depart directly, with no need to book for the drop off/ pick up service), but at the same is in a quiet and very green residential area. The room is small (but it was clear from the pictures posted, so no surprises there) but very clean and comfortable. Thorey was a great host and ready to help when I called her before arriving, and left very specific instructions for us regarding our stay. Lovely dog too!

Very good price for a single room in Reykjavik, was even cheaper than dorm-beds in some hostels! Good location, only a few minutes walk to city center. Supermarket next door, still the street itself is rather quiet. Very clean and also has basic equipment for cooking.

Baron's Hostel is cheap, super clean, with very confortable beds. Dormitories are small, thus quiet. The hosts are charming and very helpful. The location is excellent, close to city centre and BSI. There's an excellent swimming pool just accross the street, with hot pots to relax after a busy day. I could'nt wish for a better place to stay in Reykjavik.

A great location in central Reykjavik. Easy waking to main attractions and a great base to explore further afield. Comfortable, quiet and warm apartment with cheap parking options (if onsite parking is full). Correspondence with the hosts was very efficient.

Access to the guesthouse is by email instructions which were clear and helpful. This is one of the cheapest hotels available at the moment in Reykjavik but the room was clean and bright. Wifi was good, shared bathroom also clean - if rather small - and the staff helpful. Bed was basic but comfortable and I slept well. The hotel is in a good location near to the city centre but in a quiet area.

Great location, relatively close to BSÍ and the city center. (10min walks) Quiet room with nice garden view. All of my requests were met and communication was great with the guesthouse. For this pricepoint, I'd recommend it.
