A friendly, young lad checked us in. He made recommendations of tourist areas to see around this location. We had a cozy cabin with a table and 2 chairs, which is always nice. Easy parking near cabin. Our cabin had a great heat with a beautiful view. Our cabin was bunk beds. Bathroom was small but very clean. Be cautious how much hot water you use as it's a very small hot water tank that is mounted over the shower. We had a delicious meal in their restaurant the night we arrived, and we really enjoyed it. They have a lovely cold cut breakfast buffet with delicious baked breads.
Offering a restaurant, Klausturhof Guest house is located in Kirkjubæjarklaustur next to Ring Road. Free WiFi access is available. Each room here is heated and has a view of the natural surroundings.

This was a lovely place to stay on our road trip along the south coast. It was nice to feel so far out in nature. The room was cute and homey and had everything we needed, including an electric kettle, and even a set of board games. The hosts were very kind as well!
Warm and welcoming guest houses are ideal for travelers who prefer laid-back accommodations with a personal touch. Usually family run, these hosts will provide local recommendations and even optional meals. Guest houses sometimes feature a cozy living room or a garden – and are still cheaper than most regular hotels.
Hvoll is a large basic hostel. It was clean, warm and well equipped. Far enough away from the road to be quiet but easy to find. We'd happily stay again
Everything! It was magical to stay in these little house/chalet.
With my partner, we didn't book properly for what we wanted, but the host re-accommodated us in no time and we are super thankful for it as it was an unbelievable night and place to see northern lights.
Definitely a cute romantic getaway as well.
Everything was really modern in the little house we've had and it is fully equipped to cook and such.
Quiet place and really comfortable.
The location was exactly what we wanted. It was quiet, private, and the first night we stepped out the front door and watched the Northern Lights which was awesome! It also put us half way between 2 locations we wanted to see so everything was perfect. We were a 3 generation family of 5 guests and it felt like a second home. The owners were warm and friendly and couldn't do enough for us. I strongly recommend Eaglerock Guesthouse.
Clean and comfortable. Lots of separate huts with 3-4 rooms in means its a quite location.
Good breakfast included with booking.
Restaurant on site for dinner but also options close by in the town
Friendly staff, helpful when needed.
Simple kettle in each hut with tea and coffee.
Clean bathrooms with powerful hot showers. Rooms were nice and warm.
Lovely waterfall right behind guesthouse with some nice walks. Also great location to explore south coast
the hostel is located in a magnificent place with a small lake in front of the facility, it is secluded and quiet.
The common area is very large and cozy, as are the kitchens, which are also well stocked with dishes and accessories.
The hostel was wonderful. It was even better than expected. The price was amazing as was the location. It is built "in the middle of nowhere" which gives you privacy, peace and quiet. The room was clean and comfortable, the common areas (kitchen and bathrooms) tidy and well maintained. The communication and organisation is also worth mentioning - it is a self check-in hostel (you receive an email with instructions a few days before your stay), which provides flexibility and peace of mind (no rush within the check-in times).
Lovely, quiet cabin. Great location just off the ring road. The nearby gorge is superb. And make sure you eat here at least once and have the truly fabulous lamb
