Ty Helyg Guest House, hotel in Brecon

Ty Helyg Guest House is located in Brecon. Free WiFi access is available and the Brecon Beacons National Park is less than 10 minutes' walk away.

Everything very clean and well presented. I had the small double which suited me as a solo traveller. It had its own ensuite shower. All scrupulously clean. Only slight drawback was that it was up 2 flights of rather steep stairs.. but there was a fridge on the landing for milk for tea and coffee which helped. There was street parking outside initially and then once I had deposited my suitcase etc I was given a parking permit and took the car round to the Theatre car park. Plenty of room there. Walk back took about 4 minutes. Breakfast was excellent..proper poached eggs! And gluten free toast. All very nice. Would stay again if travelling this way.

I loved absolutely everything! It exceeded my expectations. Beautiful property throughout. My room, Betsi, was very well equipped, with personal touches and great attention to detail. I even had a kitchenette that I didn't expect. The owners, Claire and Chris, were really lovely, too.

Great location, very comfortable, easy secure parking for motorcycles, very motorcycle friendly. Very comfortable beds, quiet location but a few minutes walk to the heart of town. The 'star of the show' is Gail the host who greets you with a warm smile every day and made our stay so enjoyable. Gail is also a great cook and puts together a delicious breakfast. Nothing was too much trouble.

Pete the host was friendly and offered a good recommendation about where to eat in the evening. My room was in the house next door. There wern't any other guests and so it was lovely and quiet. I could see the ample off road parking spaces from the bedroom window. Lovely vegitarian breakfast of fresh fruit, cerials, fruit juice and poached egg on toasted bread.

We had a lovely stay at The Draen! The area is very quiet and picturesque, all we could hear were the birds. We stayed in the Rose suite, so we had our own, very charming living-room. Hearty, generous traditional breakfast and very spacious and comfy bedroom as well. Sue, the host was lovely and gave us useful tips about the local area. Overall a very enjoyable, and relaxing stay.
