The unexpected bonus was two families of nesting storks on either side of the Landhaus! Plus a lot of other storks feeding on the golf course and river wetland close by.
If wildlife was a real hobby for me, it would be a great weekend destination. The Tierart animal sanctuary is also only five minutes away.

This clean, quiet and well maintained guesthouse has the traditional character we wanted. A special treat was the very large shower - comfortable beds! The breakfast was particularly good - wonderful range of foods. If you stay here, be sure to dine in the Michelin listed restaurant on the property - arguably the best meal we had in our two week tour in Europe. Even the kids menu featured homemade pasta and homemade ice cream that we fought over when our grandson was done!

Host spoke very good English and was very helpful. He booked us a table at a nearby restaurant, I think it was Capito Restaurant. The food and service were excellent, but probably best to avoid if you are on a tight budget. Easy to miss Haus Gebauer as you drive up the street, but the sign is more visible from the other direction. It is next to Haus Monika whose sign is very visible. Private parking is excellent. We enjoyed walking around the lovely town. The owner has taken a lot of care and attention. Would definitely recommend.
