We had a wonderful stay at the Guesthouse! Our host, Ríkarður, was extremely welcoming and friendly. He gave us good advice regarding the roads and route to take. The weather was bad and he offered for us to stay a bit longer after the checkout time. Everything was very clean and tidy. Super warm and comfy. Breakfast was perfect, good variety and very fresh, situated upstairs in a room with a magnificent view! We met the most adorable dog, who greeted us and asked for lots of belly rubs :) We didn’t want to leave and really hope to come back and stay one day :) Many thanks, from Suthan and Claire from Australia.

Featuring river views, Hólmavað Guesthouse provides accommodation with patio, around 24 km from Godafoss Waterfall. This property offers access to a terrace, free private parking and free WiFi. Everything. Basically this is a house with two bedrooms separately rented. It has everything you would expect to find in a house - full size kitchen/diner, large lounge, utility room, washing line, veranda - all fully equipped. Assuming you don't have an offensive co-renter, this is the by far the best guesthouse we have seen in a fortnight in Iceland. Additionally it is easily found in a stunning valley. It also has two friendly dogs. Two couples or a small family could stay here in great comfort indefinitely. Finally, in terms of British prices, it represents very good value for money. In comparison with typical Icelandic prices, it is unbelievably good value.

Bólstaðarhlíð - Cottage (studio) has mountain views, free WiFi and free private parking, set in Bólstaðarhlíð. We drove the ring road and stayed here for one night. It was our favourite small cottage on a farm we stayed at during our whole trip. You can’t beat the view. The host was friendly and greeted us when we arrived. My daughters LOVED the dogs. They were really good and wouldn’t have come to people who don’t prefer dogs, but we love them and they really enjoyed the belly rubs! The location was the perfect distance from Reykjavik for our first stop after hitting the road. Hope to be back one day!

Set in Laugar, 66 km from Akureyri, Öndólfsstaðir Farm B&B features free WiFi access and free private parking. Rooms have a private bathroom fitted with a bath or shower. This is one of the best places we have ever been. Very clean, absolutely quiet, hearty and tasty breakfast, excellent service by Abba, opportunity to observe farm animals (horses, sheep, dogs, chicken, roosters) directly from the room. Nice people to talk to over the breakfast. Abba is knowledgeable about her country and is pleased to talk about it. Good location near the lake of Mývatn, but avoiding the crowds, sulphur smell and midges which may make one´s stay at accommodation places located directly on the lake unpleasant. Do not miss Abba and her animals.

Providing garden views, Icelandhorsetours - Helluland in Sauðárkrókur offers accommodation, a garden and barbecue facilities. The location was beautiful, the staff were friendly (special thanks to Emma who was our horse riding guide). Extremely good value for money, was surprised we had the whole place to ourselves. Kitchen was modern and nice. Beds were comfy and the place was clean.

BEST PLACE IN ICELAND! The room is big and clean, the bathroom is also big and confortable. The kitchen is amazing and the views are really nice!! The breakfast is included like buffet and everything is really really good!! We would repeat!! Por cierto, tiene persianas!!!
