For travelers in search of an experience, nothing says authentic country living like a stay at a private, working farm. Hosts might offer interactive kid-friendly activities or for couples, a cozy haven in an original/converted farmhouse. Breakfast is usually included – you may even be collecting the eggs yourself!
The room was spacious. The location was rustic. The host was friendly and accommodating, and placed the call for our delivered meal (Moodz) which was good. The balcony was cozy and enjoyable. The coffee drinker was happy with the coffee.
Amazing! It was like a night in museum! Real old farm converted to accommodation preserving all the original equipment. Except beds - they were newer and comfortable. As well as bathroom facilities, linens and towels. The huge apartment at the top floor was clean. Far away from city noise and crowd so we enjoyed the silence. The continental breakfast was good enough. We really enjoyed the big pool and barbeque facilities.
The apartment was beautiful - with 2 comfy bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, well stocked kitchen and a living/dining area with opening windows over the river & mountains! Very clean, very central to restaurants, farmacias, mercados & cafés!
The beautiful gardens surrounding this charming refurbished farm house are perfect for relaxing! The pool is even large enough to swim. The rooms are cozy and all cooking amenities are available in a communitary kitchen. Our hosts were lovely and spoiled us with a substantial breakfast. The house is located at a short drive (or still walkable distance) from the beaches and in proximity of hiking trails and the nice coastal town of Viana do Castelo.
Son of owner, Narcicio spoke English, was very accomodating as if I were his long lost family member. The owner drove me to a local restaurant at dinnertime since the 4-generation farm house is a bit off the Camino and out in the country on a beautiful acreage. He arranged for the staff at the restaurant to drive me back to the farm house after dinner. Celeste and Manual have deep hospitality roots in Anha. Would stay again in a heartbeat.
We enjoyed a quiet stay in this well built farmhouse during our biking camino. We stored our bikes in the garage and had the entire upstairs to ourselves because there were no other guests. The room was cool at night and we used the electric heater and extra blanket provided. Breakfast was beautifully presented and filling. The old well, laundry sink and wooden corn silo in the yard made the place very special.
On my second visit to Casa da Reina with a friend, we're staying for two rainy days. The farm stay is marvelous in late autumn. Rooms are cozy with comfortable beds and spacious bathrooms. The hosts are as welcoming, lively and funny as I remember from a Camino trip in May, 2017. Wonderful breakfast and a great separate kitchen to cook our own meals. Grocery store about a 15 minute walk. Bonus is the wine produced by the owners' own cellars.
Mr. Antonio was very nice showing the animals to the kids, the house is a true old farm house, our rooms were quite and clean. We booked in the morning and were able to arrive the same day.
It is an experience of living in a rural house. They have a parking of their own. The kitchen is huge for making your own coffee or tea or heating up meals.
The view from the room is beautiful.
They have a mini shop of drinks in the fridge which are really cheap.
They have fresh fruits from their farm in the kitchen for guests to use.
