For travelers in search of an experience, nothing says authentic country living like a stay at a private, working farm. Hosts might offer interactive kid-friendly activities or for couples, a cozy haven in an original/converted farmhouse. Breakfast is usually included – you may even be collecting the eggs yourself!
Martin, the local farmer who gives tours, was fantastic. Welcoming, funny and packed with plenty of history you ought to learn in a historic place such as this.
Breakfasts were great too
Rustic farmhouse setting with charm and a down-home feeling. Michael was the consummate host. Very personable and warm. Also cooks up a great breakfast.
You’re 5 minutes from the town of Clifden with lots of dining options and shops. We enjoyed Guy’s Pub.
If we find ourselves this way again, we’ll return.
We loved the host’s Border Collies, Lily and Rosie!
The farmhouse was a unique stay - there is a museum of sorts on the first floor that details an interesting history of the area as well as a theater where you learn about the life of Dan O'Hara. You can walk the property and see the old O'Hara house. Lots of roaming friendly animals on the property. Breakfast served each morning was delicious. The property is also connected to the city via greenway/sidewalk so it is possible to walk into town which we found to be a big bonus when we did not want to drive.
Very Well located place to discover Connemara and to take advantage of this gorgeous country
A very pleasant welcome and breakfast time
A sort of « ranch » interior
A place outside of a city
The staff were so helpful, reassuring when our car broke down.. he fixed it vernight and gave a ride into town so we could enjoy dinner and music. Self guided town walk was beautiful as was property at farmhouse
Location was excellent. A manageable walk to town centre but far enough out to create a rural escape. The view from the property was fantastic with sea inlet views and mountains in background. A great location to use as a base for touring Connemara. Property itself was practical and overall very comfortable.
Perfect spot when touring Connemara in Ireland. Also, take your time and see what Dan O'Hara Farmhouse has to offer - for example, the old farmhouse and the short video.
Quaint farmhouse stay. Donna and Micheal are both wonderful hosts. Room is beautiful and spacious.
