Featuring an outdoor swimming pool, Bangkok Marriott Hotel The Surawongse is set in Bangkok and is 1 km from Patpong and Silom areas. Excellent breakfast with lots of choice, pool is amazing with view from the top of the building. Roof top bar is a bonus, the decoration of the bar is nice with some Asian style...beautiful. Room size is good to two pax.

It was a first experience for us at this hotel group and for sure we will try the Mandarin in other cities from now on. We had a deluxe premier room and it was very spacious, very clean, large bathroom. I appreciated the treats we received when we entered the room (fruits and candies), a personalized hand-written note, the butler’s 24h service, the sound system, the beach/pool bag… We asked for a specific higher-floor room with view towards the Icon Siam Mall and we received just that! It felt that we were trully taken care of! The pool was a good retreat after visiting the city with a perfect blend of private and nature. The ice-cream “on the house” offered at noon was a cool bonus. We could use the facilities and pool untill afternoon when we left for the airport and it was a great rest before the flight. We rented a car with deuver for Ayutthaya and it was great. The driver Kid always offered us cooling cold napkins with great smell when we finished visiting temples. He was a good guide and we had the most one could do in this 7 hour tour. Breakfast is delicious and with a variety of foods. Omlette was delicious! The boat to cross to the mall is a big plus! … and it is very nice to just take a ride. Loved everything!

I stayed on Saturday night, and at the busy check-in there were some hick ups, but reception handled it professionally. Room was amazing (and quiet), I think around 50m2 and room design is a combination of modern with Thai influences. For ppl who take their work into the room, there are international electricity outlets everywhere and the amenities were hi-tech and branded. It is also easy to cast from your mobile to the tv. The bathroom has 2 sinks, a Bathtub (many mirrors) and a separate shower and hi-tech toilet. Bathrobes and towels are very fluffy and soft. Bathroom had 2 French doors so the bathroom integrates nicely into the bedroom but it also gives you privacy. View is spectacular overlooking Lumpini park and the skyline. I loved it that you can open/close the blinds from your comfy bed, especially when waking up. Fitness is basic with hi-tech machines. Both, fitness and the infinity pool have the same spectacular views as you have in your room. We had dinner at Pavillion which has Thai/chinese food which was very taste full. A bit pricey, but it is a 5 star hotel. Breakfast is also at Pavillion from 6 am to 1030 and has everything and more what you expect from a hotel of this high standard. They also have "bubbles" :) Location is in the business district. A 10 mins safe walk without any crossings to Silom road where there is a department store with ATM machines and many local shops and restaurants. A 5 mins walk more and there is a night market and the nightlife for the colourful LGBTQ community. The Skytrain and MRT are 2 mins from the department store so it is easy to get around in Bangkok.
