Everyone was extremely friendly and welcoming. We were always greeted with a smile and asked how we had slept or our day was going. The buffet for breakfast was extensive and extremely tasty. The hot food that was made to order was also well prepared and tasty. The room was comfortable and we always slept well. The overall design of the space was clean and modern and the space was used well throughout the room. The property is located in the heart of the old town. The Duoro is a short walk away but the area around the hotel is fairly quiet. Given its location, the Exmo also had the advantage of being a downhill walk at the end of most days or nights, which is a bonus in Porto.

The 5-star Pestana Vintage Porto Hotel & World Heritage Site is romantically situated along the Douro River, right on the historic Ribeira Square. We had a bit of a problem with the reservation but that was resolved very nicely. The rooms with the river view are amazing and you are right in the heart of the city.

The place was charming and literally footsteps away from one of the most beautiful and interesting sections of town. Big comfortable bed. Spacious and modern bathroom. It was a very good choice, which I made quite randomly. The hotel has a virtual reception, which is probably a sign of things to come. I am pretty "old school" with hotels, so this worried me when I first confronted a dial-up connection and a person on a flat screen, but it all worked.
