In a prime location in the Higashiyama Ward district of Kyoto, NOHGA HOTEL KIYOMIZU KYOTO is located 1.1 km from Kiyomizu-dera Temple, 1.1 km from Sanjusangen-do Temple and 1.3 km from Gion Shijo... Great staff, nice buzz around the reception/coffee shop/bakery area. We made sure we had a big enough room to fit our suitcases and it was perfect. Fab to have the option to eat in the hotel restaurant and a roof top drink. Fab location to walk around Kyoto. We did about 20,000 steps every day!

I liked the corner of the room with tatami flooring to relax in a lot. And there were was another corner to sit on a couch to watch TV.

Conveniently set in the Higashiyama Ward district of Kyoto, Rinn Kiyomizu Gion is set 1.3 km from Kiyomizu-dera Temple, 1.4 km from Sanjusangen-do Temple and 1.5 km from Samurai Kembu Kyoto. Very calm environment. Modern and exceptionally clean. Was expecting a very small apartment but was pleasantly surprised to see a table and 2 chairs in the room. The nespresso coffee maker was a bonus and came with 2 complimentary pods. It was a shame that we were unable to buy any from local shops . I'm sure if we'd asked the staff would have provided extra. The TV has an Amazon firestick but all the directions were in Japanese. As it was we were generally too tired to watch TV on our return to the apartment at the end of the day. We stayed 5 nights. Should have stayed a week. So much to see and do in Kyoto. A good spot to base yourself, to see other parts of the Kansai region. Highly recommend!

Special thanks to the very friendly and helpful staff! Spacious and beautiful room in a well situated hotel. Many sights are within walking distance, others can be reached by the very nearby metro line. Very quiet though. Cheap coin parking in the surrounding. Lots of restaurants, Family Markt, Cafés… In low season very affordable, probably much more expensive in busy times of the year..

Set in Kyoto, 500 metres from Shoren-in Temple, Waka Heian Shirakawa Hotel features views of the city. Their customer service go far beyond the norm. I was in Nara when I message them via booking app because I do not have a local number. I needed their assistance to call a dental clinic because my travelling partner suffered a really bad toothache. I gave them one dental contact in Tokyo to help us to make an appointment the next day, while we returned to Waka Heian on that night from Nara. Not only they call that clinic, they took initiative to contact a handful of English speaking clinics near my tokyo hotels and called on our behalf while we are still in Nara. I only saw their reply 1 hour later. They knew where we stay in Tokyo as we arranged yamanto service through them. Such Customer service is really commendable and I highly recommend u stay at this hotel for their efficient and helpful service. Excellent location and 3mins walk to the train station with mulitple bus stops too.
