Housed in a historic building, the recently renovated Straven Guesthouse provides accommodation with a shared lounge and free WiFi. Chris and Sinead were incredible hosts and made us feel at home from check-in. The breakfast each morning was something we looked forward to each day. It was restaurant quality (wife asked for a recipe) and the soft background music (personal note here) was spot on. Our room was spacious and the bed was very comfortable. The property is located near a bus stop, so getting around isn’t an issue. Lastly, it’s a 2 minute (max) skip down to the beach. It’s one block away.

The apartment was clean and well managed. The location is right off the Portobello beach which is a great place for a stroll, cup of coffee, bite to eat, etc. Easy bus ride into Edinburgh Old Town. Would highly recommend if you want a place to stay that is a more peaceful and less crowded than central Edinburgh.

Very comfortable home with all facilities you need for a few days away. Shower gel,shampoo,towels,welcome pack for breakfast . Comfortable beds and fabulous modern shower.Lots of storage in bedrooms too. Dining room with patio out the back. Garden was secluded and private and very quiet . Great idea to get into city was the 8 minute train ride costing £3 taking 3minutes to walk up to station and train right into Waverly. A real home from home.

Absolutely fantastic stay at Cabin by the Coast. Clean, comfortable and so cosy and warm! Lola clearly listens to customer feedback as there was the addition of a microwave for those wanting to prepare something to eat. The bed was comfortable, the heating fantastic, the location was 10/10! Stones throw from Portobello beach. We got the bus into Edinburgh which was easy and cheap - bus stop just at the bottom of the road. A fantastic weekend stay, excellent value for money. We will definitely be returning.

The cottage was very comfortable and homey: comfortable beds, good heating, just spacious enough without feeling overwhelming. The location is good; it was easy to get public transport to various places, or just walk to some of the nearer ones. The hosts were communicative and very helpful.

What a beautiful home, thank you so much for sharing the space with us! We traveled 4000 miles to be with family for a holiday, and found ourselves very comfortable, with plenty of room, enjoying amazing views, and in a great location! The public bus was so easy to catch and take around, we absolutely made the most of our stay.

In the Portobello district of Edinburgh, close to Portobello Beach, The Beach House features a garden and a washing machine. The property was in a great location with access to the beach and easy access to public transport which took you into Edinburgh’s city centre. Steph and her family were attentive and responded to our questions/ needs throughout the stay. They really added to the experience of our trip.
