And all personnel made me feel like a special guest—just as the reviews I read indicated. The hotel probably took advantage of COVID shutdowns to refurbish. My room and all common areas seemed newly painted and renewed. Everything functioned: Wi-Fi, fridge, shower, USB outlets, a/c. The hotel was built in 1949. One can enjoy—as I did—the glow from a past era in Brazilian history—marble and dark wood furnishings— and personnel who do everything possible to keep tradition alive.
