Everything was really amazing! The room, the location, the view , the staff.
Everything was super clean. High standard of hygiene and good products to use for shower. The mattress was amazing. We love the design too. The breakfast was made from high quality products. The menus at restaurants was the greatest option for our dinner. The waiter, Antonio, as well Emanuel in reception and the other staff was very polite. The hotel provided us a tour at the winery and wine tasting, so we have the chance to taste the wines and to buy our favourites to take them back to our country. Really thank you about everything !

The staff were very warm, welcoming and helpful. While it was the tail end of the harvest season, it was still very interesting to see some of the work in progress and we were encouraged to go into the vineyard to watch and to ask any of the workers questions that we might have at that time. Regrettably, we were unable to enjoy an in-house dinner at the Morgadio because the venue was involved with the local Wine Festival which was taking place at that time. We learned from some fellow guests that they had been able to dine there a few nights beforehand and it was an incredible dining and educational experience which offered a topnotch tasting menu including wine pairings with each course. The intimate atmosphere and the charming hosts made for night that they said was truly the highlight of their entire trip to date.

The house is stunning—immaculately maintained with an incredible view. Patricia, the owner, is a wonderful host who made us feel warmly welcomed from the start. She’s poured so much love into every detail of the property, and it’s even more beautiful than the photos suggest. Everything was spotless, and each morning, she prepares a delicious breakfast with every detail thoughtfully considered.
Offering an outdoor swimming pool with sweeping Douro Valley views, Quinta Manhas Douro is surrounded by nature and also features a restaurant.

Actually I could not stay in the property as there was a technical problem. But the staff onsite found a perfect aternative for me, so over all I am more than happy with the stay!!

Quaint, quirky, well maintained stay in the Douro Valley. Well maintained, clean property with a beautiful garden. The staff were great and went above and beyond.
The top choice for people wanting to get away from noise and fast-paced city life. Country houses are private homes based in the peaceful countryside, with communal facilities and meals available. Activities to unwind can be included too, such as trekking, birdwatching and cycling.
Beautiful common areas, easy access to the pool.
Very good breakfast and a comfy bed.
The overall style of the hotel is great.
Location was near the highway, but secluded, meaning good access but still in a quiet area.
This is a beautiful house overlooking a forested valley, along a quiet road. The setting could not be nicer for a relaxing place to hang out. Only viable to stay here if you have a rented car, it is down a steep hill from the main highway, far from a large town, and has no grocery store or restaurant within 40 minutes of walking. The garage for a vehicle is small, so would be difficult to park anything larger than an economy-sized car. The host was great, we had no problem checking in. I would definitely stay here again.
We liked everything about it!! The staff was super nice and welcoming, they were even delivering fresh homemade bread in the morning at our door!! The property was unique and so peaceful and charming! There were 2 pools, a path near the river, we could buy their grown products from their garden, honey from their hives, eggs from their hens... We highly recommend! We would have stayed longer but has to continue our trip.
Check in is in the cafe underneath. The lady was nice and we managed despite the language differences. The rooms are a little tired but comfortable enough and with plenty of beds. 2 out of the 3 rooms booked had 3 beds in. No hairdryer in the rooms. Very central and despite there being some sort of celebration going on the room was quiet.
The location is beautiful and so peaceful. We stayed in a spacious and well-equipped self-catering stone casa. The grounds are extensive and very well maintained. The swimming pool is superb and so quiet and relaxing. The maps provided to us when we checked in were brilliant - we were able to explore the Douro and the Parque Natural do Alvão by car, as well take the riverside walk into the town of Vila Real. We self catered, but we made good use of the "Honesty Shop" at reception for local produce.
Away from the town so beautiful and quiet long tree lined drive well lit for return in the dark. Accommodation was in a word luxury! The owners are very friendly and speak good English which is helpful nothing too much trouble. Brilliant thanks so much
