Everything was great. What a gem of a stay. Mario is a great host. We loved the location and cosy feel, good cooking facilities, comfy bed, big bath, herb garden, nice decor, warm even in the deep winter storms. It's got the lot, a great getaway for our honeymoon. I rarely review properties and despite my misgivings at breaking a well kept secret stay this definitely deserved a great review.

We enjoyed our stay at the Old Tea Factory. We stayed for 7 days with 2 adults and 1 child.
The house was clean and organised. It’s located in a small (calm) village near the sea. Every night you can watch the sunset from your balcony or by the pool, simply breathtaking.
You can start walking towards the mountains just by leaving the house using a calm road. The road next to the house also doesn’t have alot of traffic. We saw the locals walk there every night towards the viewpoint.
We could recommend this to anyone!

The amazing garden inside of this boutique hotel makes you immediately feel relaxed. What is also super cool is that there are different fruit trees around our bungalow, which both the owner and Luis told us we can just pick the fruit and try, they all taste amazing. Also, the super short distance to the hot spring is another extra point, which is super convenient to have a less crowded late night hot spring session:)

LOCATION: Ribeiria Quente is a lovely small fishing village with a beach and close access to Furnas and Povoacao. There is a hiking trail just below the property that follows the shoreline and goes on for a few hours. Easy and friendly shopping in the village for fruits, cheese, bread etc. A few good options for dinner in the village.
ACCOMODATIONS: We had the smallest of the options, a small cottage, very well thought-out layout to optimize space with a patio and beautiful staircase leading to the infinity pool above. There are other larger options. Book early. Great view of the sea and you can hear the ocean.
HOST | ACCEUIL: José, the owner, answers very quickly , lives on the property in an adjacent house and is very helpful.
The top choice for people wanting to get away from noise and fast-paced city life. Country houses are private homes based in the peaceful countryside, with communal facilities and meals available. Activities to unwind can be included too, such as trekking, birdwatching and cycling.

The accommodation was actually a whole house so we had a lot of space + it was the traditional style of house so it was very authentic. Very nice and fast communication with owner. Quiet location.
Check in was easy, code system worked really well. Really nice to have the bread every morning and a couple of local foods (cheese and jams) in the fridge ready for us. Size was perfect for a couple. It is a really quiet and peaceful place. We really enjoyed the ocean view, although note that this is best enjoyed when the weather was warm enough to sit outside as there is only a window from the kitchen to see the view from inside.
Really peaceful and quiet. Rui was amazing helping with local recommendations and stocking the fridge with eggs, milk and cheese. Perfect place to spent a couple of days.
If you look for some peaceful nature with a jaw breaking sea view without any humans in sight, this house is made for you. It was a real pleasure coming back to the cosy house after a long day hiking and enjoy the sea with a glass of wine.
David the host was super friendly and welcomed us like his own friends, offered us some local pastries, porto and beers. He gaves us plenty of tips about the area, and was super available.
I will definitely recommend it and come back.
Beautiful spot on the north east corner of S. Miguel. Lovely houses, beautifully renovated and decorated , very modern and not Ikea. Peaceful and quiet. Hosts were very friendly and helpful. Nice welcome basket! We definitely recommend it.
Everything was perfect and being thought of. Open kitchen with great views, as well from the bedrooms. Very peaceful place, quiet town except for the sounds of nature and animals. If you love nature and want to get away from the crowds, this casa is the place to be.
The house itself: beautiful, architect-designed space in a wonderful, peaceful location. Spacious, contemporary, super comfortable bed, with a magnificent view over the surrounding countryside and ocean. House had everything we needed for an extended stay.
