Fabulous hotel just near Assisi. Beautifully designed and sparkling clean. The only downside was the chilly weather so did not get an opportunity to use the pool.

Agriturismo Il Casale di Monica, hotel in Assisi

On the plain between Assisi and Santa Maria degli Angeli stands the enchanting Agriturismo il Casale di Monica.

We recently had the pleasure of staying at this charming agriturismo in Umbria. Nestled in beautiful natural surroundings, this retreat exudes a sense of peace and comfort. From the moment we arrived, the friendly and attentive staff made us feel welcome and at home. The rooms were spotless, and the beds were comfortable.. While the breakfast wasn’t overly abundant, it was still delightful, with fresh rolls and croissants served every morning. We stayed here as two couples and had a wonderful time. The house has two toilets and one shower, which was perfectly convenient for all of us. The kitchen, while small, is fully equipped with everything you need to prepare meals, adding to the overall comfort of our stay. The warm and cozy atmosphere, along with the attentive staff and thoughtful details, made this agriturismo a perfect place to relax. It’s an ideal spot to enjoy the beauty of Umbria in great company!

Cascina Antonini, hotel in Assisi

Set in the countryside around Foligno, Cascina Antonini offers colourful rooms with a garden view. Bike rental is free. En suite rooms at the Antonini have a wrought iron bed and individual heating.

Unfortunately, our relation was affected by misunderstanding and lack of kindness by the landlords from the very beginning. So we even couldn't look forward to staying there. The problem was that one of us as a prediabetic was afraid of sweet Italian breakfast and so we accepted their offer at the Booking presentation (see photo, later erased) of bacon, ham and eggs. So I had asked by email for it (even instead of all sweet items) and received very negative answer like "take it or leave it". Even muesli and sugar-free white yogurt were rejected... Fortunately, on our arrival we reconciled and our claims (also regarding two single sheets and blankets, not one big for both of us) were accepted so we really enjoyed our stay having Fiamenga as the centre for one-day trips to Spello, Trevi, Perugia, Gubbio, Todi, Spoleto and other very interesting towns around. Last but not least, we want to emphasize the kindness of Mrs. Donatella (the landlords' cousin) who prepared our breakfast.

Perfect location for those looking for a peaceful stay in the countryside yet within short walk to town. May be a little challenging to walk up the hill for some, but can easily use the car to go up instead.

Gorgeous location with fantastic view. A 15min walk up the path right at the side of the house to Assisi - uphill, but the views will keep you going. The breakfast was really good and the staff were lovely. Peaceful and quiet at night. Perfect place to stay to see Assisi or use as a base to explore the area, would highly recommend.

Location is 12 minutes walk uphill to the Basilica with nice views of Assisi, especially in the evening light, from the paths close to the hotel. The location was quiet with private parking and easy to access being just outside the town. Location was quiet and peaceful at night with plenty of greenery and paths to walk.

The location 500 metres up the mountain is beautiful with lovely views over the valley. Our room was large and well equipped but a bit dark with dark wood and one window. Staff attention was very friendly and efficient. The food was in general very good but fairly limited selection. Almost everything is provided by their farm. The location is wonderfully quiet and peaceful.

Location is ideal. In a very quiet, old street that takes you back in time. Yet in the best area of Assisi. Has all that you need to have a memorable stay in Assisi. The terrace is idyllic and wouldn't mind spending the rest of my life in that peaceful terrace! The owner was very welcoming too. Will return some day.

The property is set in a lovely, quiet countryside location with views to Assisi which is close by. The rooms are clean, spacious and well appointed. There is on-site parking. The host, Paolo, was very welcoming, responsive to our messages and met us on our arrival. He even provided fresh and delicious sweet and savoury treats from a patisserie in Assisi in the morning. You could not ask for more!
