Great place to stay to set you up for an early start on the Transfargarasan or to sleep late, enjoy their great breakfast and take a leisurely drive over one of the world’s great roads. On the Friday night we stayed it was a bit noisy till 11PM because a sports car club was celebrating at the bar before their trek the next day. Good food and great service in their restaurant so no need to go searching after you checkin.

The location is amazing, the food is delicious, the staff is extremely welcoming and the Palinca is tasty.
It's right in the middle of the forest with immaculate air. We enjoyed the quietness of the place.

The breakfast was shockingly good! I was in London 2 weeks ago and thought that breakfast inclus was very good. No comparison! Omelets and crepes made to order, fruit salad in cut glass bowls. Really outstanding.
I also very much liked the staff. I was even allowed to practice my Romanian. Tip: Ask first before you try to chat someone up. They might be very busy,

We managed to visit the monastery and in the evening there was a national event so it was very nice.
I think that within the limits of our time we covered the main thing.

Really nice town, at the foot of Carpathians and at the beginning of the famous road Transfagarash. There are lots of places to be seen in the town and in the surroundings, offering different experience for all ages and interests. Great place for couple of days stay.

The princely court ruins and St Nicholas church are not to be missed. The centre is great for walking around and the market is a great place to grab a snack. We liked the Municipal museum too. We also enjoyed the Romanian food at La Costica where the locals gather. Curtea de Arges was a great surprise!
