my main interest was in the Sf Nicolae Church of the Valachian princes, dating from 14th c, one of the oldest in our country and with great old frescoes inside and the ruins of a valachian princes court (Curtea Domneasca) nearby. there is still to visit "Manastirea Argesului", the church housing the remains of the romanian kings, but as it was completely rebuilt in the 19th century my interest for it's architecture is lower.
Curtea de Arges is a small town very easy to get around. most restaurants are on the main street and I could find some take-away even in late evening.
the town is a good starting point to cross the mountains on Transfagarasean, a high altitude and spectacular street over the Carpathians but also for a journey in the hill land below the mountains in the counties of Arges and Dambovita.

Very nice town, nice people.
Very nice town, nice people.
We managed to visit the monastery and in the evening there was a national event so it was very nice.
I think that within the limits of our time we covered the main thing.
I think it was possible to have more fun in the town.

Picturesque old town with two major atractions: the royal church with its exquisite 13th century frescoes and the Curtea de Argeș monastery. The town is a good base for exploring the reagion: Transfagarasan, Vidraru lake, Poenari fortress, Câmpulung Muscel, Hurezi Monastery (UNESCO WORLD heritage), Corbi church built in a clif with frescoes

Really nice town, at the foot of Carpathians and at the beginning of the famous road Transfagarash. There are lots of places to be seen in the town and in the surroundings, offering different experience for all ages and interests. Great place for couple of days stay.

Special thanks to the hotel manager, Lavinia Radulescu, who didn't hesitate to walk an extra mile and went beyond her normal duties to assist my family during unexpected, unfortunate circumstances. Lavinia's persistence saved our daughter from potential health-related suffering, and we are deeply grateful. All the best to you!
The hotel was situated in a quiet area, with good parking and close to the start of a long strip of bars and restaurants. The room was a decent size and clean and tidy. The breakfast was good, we did not have evening meals as we were on a motorbike tour and would either be back late or go straight out for the evening.
The host was very complaisant and nice. Hotel rooms are new and clean. Also we have a tasteful diner and at the end a cake.
Happy birthday Rado 🎂(Justinian).
