Host was kind and informative. Bikes and helmets were free to use so had access to the two glaciers in the area as well as the town. Joker store in town to well equipped with food to prepare in campsite kitchen. Food is available at the museum as well. The glacier museum was well done and informative.
Stayed in the dorm and had it to myself as it is getting close to the end of the season.

How the buildings are so much part of its surrounding and community. Had a wonderful stay in the dorm room on a quiet day. Shared a few special conversations with others. It’s a place where you should honestly stay longer….

We rent it in August. It is a new lodge in a great area for those who like hiking or not. There is a special free parking place. Amazing balcony. There are enough kitchen tools. There are children games. Daniel and Maria helped us and answered our questions
Lovely location on the Fjord. Gorgeous. Not a whole lot to do except short hikes along the Fjord, or going on organized tours. In general, it is a good idea to check hiking possibilities on online sites before going somewhere in Norway. When the fjords are very steep that there aren't many easily accessible hikes, which we didn't anticipate. But the walk along the Fjord was jaw-dropping and you can go a long way.
We tried to rent a bike and the minimum rental period was 3 hrs, and we didn't have that much time.( It is a small place so an hour's rental would have sufficed. )
The glacier museum was nice for 60-90 min.

For those who love Norway's mountains and green farmed...
For those who love Norway's mountains and green farmed glacial valleys all topped by Europe's largest Ice Field, this place is as picturesque and likable as anywhere on Earth. The Glacier Museum in Fjaerland sports a riveting breathtaking 20 minute flyover surround video of the Jostedalsbreen Ice Field. With all this, it's also quiet and peaceful - not overrun by tourist buses at all

Staff is very good and the hotel is well presented.
Staff is very good and the hotel is well presented. One must be aware it is not a modern building and therefore do not expect modern luxury but it is a true experience. Location and views are amazing. Price is too high though all considering.

GEM OF A PLACE HIGHLY RECOMMEND Food was out of this world local produce, beautifully presented and so tasty.
Lovely selection of beers and wine.
Views of fjord from inside (lots of windows) and outside terrace that sits on the water/fjord that wraps around building.
A unique and personal hotel with lots of character and gorgeous decor.
Rooms individually decorated and very cosy and comfortable.
Staff unbelievably friendly.
We did the floating sauna and swim 2 mins down the road and the glacier museum.
This is among the most charming hotel I have ever stayed in. The building is old but perfrectly refurbished and the rooms were full of furniture with character. The window opens to the fjord and in the mornings and evenings, the cliffs are reflected on the water.
It is situated in a (mostly closed during off season) hamlet by the fjord and the short walks were magical. Orcas apparently appears on and off
This is a gem: The owners have remodeled an old farm into this hotel that has so much charm and the whole experience calmly says: Authenticity. If you are looking for a courtyside guesthouse with just nature to surround you, this is the place.
Fjaerland Fjordstove Hotel is a whole experience from the magnificent and picturesque location, to the quirkiness of the accommodation, to the storytelling in the lounge, dinner and staff. Would highly recommend 😊
The location off the beaten track but within easy reach of glacier viewing. The owner was friendly and welcoming. Quirky and comfortable accommodation. Made a welcome change from touristy hotels.
