Enjoyed the chat time during the typical local breakfast which was simple but delicious. Not far from the city centre.

A lovely, underrated town in the less touristy South. We only spent one day there, basically to shorten the trip to the airport the next morning, but we discovered several little gems. My one complaint - it could do with some live sega music. We will definitely spend a few more days there on our next trip.

The city is not beautiful.
The city is not beautiful. It is good for accomodation and making trips from the base. There is no nice bar where to go for a drink during evening. There are some good restaurants and nice market. I would recommend to stay in Blue Bay if you can find affordable accomodation there.

Mahebourg is the downtown of Mauritius, do not stay there unless you wanna sleep for a night so you can be closer to the airport because it is closer to the airport, otherwise the north side is the best for accommodation.

Mahebourg is not at all touristy.
Mahebourg is not at all touristy. You get A true taste of island life. The eateries are mainly visited by locals with the odd tourist. They're cheap & always delicious. I must recommend Chez Marilyn.
Blue Bay is a short drive from town & well worth a visit!
We stayed for 7 nights which was a few days too long, maybe 4 or 5 nights is enough.

Mahbourg is charming.
Mahbourg is charming. I like city sounds and working people so I found it to be quite charming. Nearby restaurants were delicious and friendly and affordable. Transit is available to most destinations. The Monday market was very interesting. The people were delightful. We loved our stay.

Chillpill is a nice place to stay, near the airport. Mahébourg is an authentic town and the lagoon around the accommodation is amazing.
Great place to stay if you need to get to the airport early, but also to explore the south-west area of Mauritius. It’s close to Blue Bay and Ile aux Aigrettes.
The balcony and view from the room were amazing!
The property is big. It’s in the center of Mahébourg, near the market and above KFC. You have access to a shared big kitchen and a living room. There is enough space in the rooms. The host is the sweetest lady ever. She always wishes you well en tells you to be careful. Take her advice to heart. She knows what she is talking about!
Upon arrival I felt very welcoming there. I was able to rent a bicycle which was nice way to move around and see Blue Bay and Mahebourg. There is a common kitchen and location is good too!
