Hænuvík Cottages, hotel in Örlygshöfn

Quietly set in the Westfjords of Iceland, these cottages are located along the Patreksfjördur Fjord. Each offers cottages with cooking facilities and views of the scenic sea and mountain countryside.

Small but functional kitchen. Cosy little place. Sheeps grazing just outside our cottage. Saw the aurora.

Fosshotel Westfjords, hotel in Patreksfjörður

This hotel, opened in June 2013, is situated along the coast in Patreksfjordur, a fishing village in Iceland’s Westfjords. It offers an à la carte restaurant with a bar and daily breakfast buffet.

The staff were outstanding, particularly Anne who was like a whirlwind in the dining room and bar and superbly efficient.

Hotel Latrabjarg, hotel in Örlygshöfn

Situated in Vestfirdir, the Western Fjords of Iceland, this family-run hotel is 23 km from the bird cliffs of Látrabjarg. It offers free Wi-Fi and an on-site restaurant with bar.

The innkeeper is extremely friendly. We discussed about living in Iceland, he told us the history of the place, his childhood in this region, had many wonderful stories to share. He even passed a playlist of songs in our la guage. The place is old school, in a very pleasant manner. It's like entering a photograph of a recent past. There are lots of vintage objects and pictures everywhere. Nothing here is modern, and it's perfect like it is. We had a good meal in the evening (even though we did not book it, and came in late) and a nice buffet for breakfast. The room was very large, with a salon and a table, like a suite. Also it's one of the closest places to stay to observe the cliffs of Latrabjarg.

everything is geared to make more money, no spoons in the communal kitchen, very poorly equipped, it in their restaurant so they can make more money out of you, the room was over priced at least double then what it should be, not really guest friendly.

The host was very nice! The little girl that was helping in the hotel did an amazing job serving everyone at dinner. De food was delicious and the bananabread that we bought the next morning was very good! We really loved how chatty and nice the lady was. This was totally worth the money and if i would go to the Westfjords again, we would 100% book this hotel again. :)

Utterly superb location, close to amazing beach and not far from bird cliffs (go early evening when the puffins come back). Something of faded glory about the hotel but that was no problem. Massive room allowed us to sort kit. Decent curtains kept out the 24hr daylight unlike most hotel rooms. Camping area has its own kitchen building where we cooked.

Great location from which to visit Látrabjarg, and hotel itself is situated in a beautiful inlet. Breakfast was nice with a variety of jams, cold cuts, breads and cereals.
