First class hotel. Friendly helpful staff, beautiful, comfortable room and excellent food. We were driving south from Scotland to Liverpool to join a cruise ship, unfortunately due to bad weather conditions our itinerary was changed and we elected not to sail. I rang the hotel on our way back north and were delighted that they were able to give us the same room. Would definitely stay at Roundthorn again.

Small village with few shops, streamer made access to other areas on lake easy. Walks well detailed and regular public transport to other parts of the Lake District. We parked the car when we arrived and never touched it till we left.

It was central. Managed to park ok. Loved the decor.
It was central. Managed to park ok. Loved the decor. Inside you had to wait to be seated but there was cosy alcove seating and you had priority over non residents. As well as the out door seating area at the front there was also a covered out door seating area at the back.
Food was great! Only problem was the size! Very generous.

Close to Ullswater, walks and boat trips just a walk away. The hotel was lovely and clean, staff were more than helpful -including the extra sausage for my dog at breakfast and help when I was arriving in an unfamiliar area much later than I planned. Excellent, would highly recommend.

Love Pooley bridge, long walks by the lake, around 4 pubs/...
Love Pooley bridge, long walks by the lake, around 4 pubs/restaurants with a few shops, campsite up the road is outstanding - Hillcroft. Easy walk over the bridge for an hour boat trip. Blue light card friendly . Dog & child friendly can't wait to return.
This is a lovely self-catering apartment; very comfortable bed, newly decorated bathroom with excellent shower. The location is perfect for Pooley Bridge and activities around Ullswater: it's a short pathed walk in to Pooley Bridge. All staff were really lovely, friendly helpful with information. Bar downstairs from the apartment has great views from both inside and outside. No food in the bar but visiting food trucks on Friday and Saturday. WiFi was free and adequate for light internet usage.
We have been holidaying in the Lakes for over 50 years, but Pooley Bridge has always seemed a bit too far. Not any more. A beautiful little village with a wonderful "B&B". How Booking.com can classify it as such is beyond me. It is a Michelin starred restaurant in every respect - food, wines, staff, atmosphere. Perfect. We will be back whenever we are in the area again
Thank you
Everything about Barton Hall is great, the location, the staff, the proprietor, the bedroom, the grounds..we had a great time and would be back in a heartbeat..Barton Hall is a great base for the Lakes..it has easy access to the A66 and the A591 so you can connect to the other lakes easily..great food and drink nearby in Pooley Bridge
I've always loved Pooley Bridge been here many times staying at the campsite BUT never in the Crown Inn, I honestly can't fault the place, greeted well, service brilliant and nothing was a problem for the staff, well all, defo be back 👏
