The Throckmorton, hotel in Alcester

A 30-minute drive from Birmingham International and Coventry airports, The Throckmorton is set in the tranquil Warwickshire countryside. It offers free WiFi and a traditional restaurant and bar.

The food was very good, but we found the dinner menu somewhat lacking in selections.. Breakfast was good with a buffet and cooked selection. Service was very good Our room was quite small, the shower room smaller, but the shower itself was very good, loads of hot water, but not much room inside the cubicle,, also, the room was lacking sound privacy if other guests were enjoying themselves.! We were unimpressed with the check out attitude after the custom we gave to you during our stay. Conversely the check in was extremely friendly. All together we woiuld reccomend and stay again if the occasion arises.

This place is lovely. Secure motorbike parking. Comfy seating area and kitchen area with everything required. The bedroom and bathroom was lovely and clean. The owners were really helpful and quick to respond. I couldn't have asked for more. Waitrose and village centre is a 2min walk away but the apt is secluded.

Lovely room, spacious, clean, and very comfortable. Little extras in the room made our stay special. Breakfast was great. Lunch in the pub bar, which was a nice addition to the hotel was a lovely tasty curry. All the staff were pleasant and helpful, we were made to feel at home immediately on arrival.

The staff were very friendly and accommodating.

The staff were very friendly and accommodating. The restaurant had a lovely ambience with a place to sit both before and after the meal. I was disappointed to find no information in the room relating to wifi or breakfast times. Consequently we were late for breakfast but we were still served. There was a music duo playing which apparently happens once a fortnight on a Friday. I would definitely reccomend this place.

    Alcester is lovely.

Alcester is lovely. I used to live there, and it was lovely to go back - good pubs, some restaurant options and good pub-food options. Great location to explore South Warwickshire/North Cotswolds/North Worcestershire. The Moat House, Turks Head and, a little further afield in Great Alne, the recently re-opened Mother Huff Cap offer good food options. Panache 50 offers good Indian dining, and Amore Italian offers lovely food (try the huge calzone!). Good coffee shops/tea rooms.

Absolutely beautiful, clean and private home from home. It's been very well thought out and provides all the amenities you need. Location is excellent, private but at the same time being walking distance to the center of Alcester where there are a range of shops and restaurants to suite all tastes. Nikki was a lovely host and made sure that all our questions were addressed prior to our stay and was lovely host indeed. Highly recommended and would stay again!
